They didn’t give any concrete numbers with respect to their first supercharging stop, but they made it sound like it charged extremely quickly compared to what they were expecting. I wonder if any over the air updates have already been done regarding charging rate

Another fun and worthwhile TH review.

First reviewers I’ve seen talk about and be frank about the visibility problems. This frankness immediately increased my interest in the rest of the review.

These guys don’t appear to be playing by the influencer rules of talk nice.
  • They say it’s quite noisy in the highway, esp motor noise.

  • Damn, those guys together jumped on the tonneau. That’s beyond recommended spec 🤣

  • Their convo about ā€œI still don’t know where I stand on itā€ I relate to. Have been in one a few times, and know the feeling. It’s hard to know what you think about something so different.

  • They too say it might just be the best audio sound system they’ve ever experienced.

  • They also show the first timer challenges with getting used to the 4WS/SBW in tight maneuvers.

  • Peeling the carrot with the edge of a panel. 🤣
Chopping the carrot in half with the closing frunk šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«
Chopping a closed aluminum bottle (pressurized) with the closing frunk? 😬
Chopping 4 carrots at once? 😣
I’m gonna need my Lightning, some carrots, and report back
  • talk about the rear headroom issue with tall people/bumps

  • For the first time I’ve seen, they talk a good bit about interior quality being off in terms of rattles, squeaks, etc.

  • They gave all the right qualifications and context to their range results, and came down 4K in elevation, and got 287mi

All in all, not at all a glowing review!

But a good one.

Seems those back corners of the frunk are the worst offenders (sharpest corners). Seen tests where a hand is in the front of the frunk bottom or on the sides where it *should* trigger the sensor and go back up. But then another test where instead of the whole hand just the finger tips which then got wedged between fender and frunk.

Waiting on $60K RWD CT

My thoughts after viewing the video:

-The stereo supposedly ROCKS in the Cybertruck. CC's claim it's the best automotive sound system they have ever experienced.

-The CT creaks and pops like a cheap 1980's sedan. Very disheartening to hear on a $120k vehicle.

-The handling is excellent thanks to the high tech RWS and SBW system that is exclusive to the Cybertruck.

I agree. Not glowing really at all, but for the most part honest. The frunk closing on the carrots feels like a miss on these early builds.

The guys do a pretty solid job. Good humor, although they try a little too hard to be Ryan Reynolds, but I like him so šŸ¤·šŸ¼.

Sounds like they came into it with a narrative that the CT was ā€œthe perfect truckā€.. I never heard that, but I am a little later to the EV space than some.

After watching a handful of their other videos, my real only quip with them (or question) is why they mock the Cybertruck and Teslas more than others. They treated Elon like SNL treated Donald Trump. It was funny the first couple times, but then you realized that was their easiest target for humor and it gets old. They felt a lot harsher/mocking toward Tesla than they were to some of their other reviewed cars (and the fellow CEOs). It’s a bit of a turnoff, especially when you see the other videos. Their tone is still critical, but… for a sports analogy. It was like watching a football commentator be extra harsh towards Alabama and more gentle toward say a Penn State. If you know you know. If not no worries.

That said, I appreciate they pointing out the flaws (which I agree for a 120k truck are valid). I gotta think the builds will get better, won’t they?!?

Thanks to @cvalue13 for a spot-on summary! I was going to pass on this video due to the 40-minute length, but your comments intrigued me so I watched.

The visibility comments are of particular interest to me, along with the ride and interior noise level. This is why I hope to be able to test drive a CT before taking delivery. I have gotten spoiled by the ride and comfort of my Model-X, so worst case is that if the CT is not a good fit for me, then I'll probably just upgrade to a revised Model-X.

so is the suspension compliant or not? they say it's not comfortable and crashes

what do owners here compare the suspension to? Is it good?

that was the thing of it

having been in the truck a couple of times, i watch some other reviews and quickly get the feeling of "seems like they're either avoiding or not even noticing ... X, Y, Z", so the review loses some credibility.

this one didnt feel like they were pulling any punches, and so i was left with the FAR simpler task of just personally/mentally adjusting for their banter and particular brand of critique

for what it's worth, I think these guys also similarly did one of the fairest (while still being humorous and watchable) early reviews of the Lightning

end of the day, when it comes to gleaming reviews of what's fantastic about the Cybertruck, I've already got Tesla (and it's fans) completely filing the airwaves.

to yin that yang, and triangulate on what in the middle is the more likely truth, i don't mind some critique (that's still pleasant to watch)

and man, do I need to get to Yosemite

Two items stood out to me. They showed the headlights at night/rain/snow and it seems like it has really bad visibility. Second, the rear view video looked almost unusable at night in rain. Maybe FSD visualization will be better. Need more testing on those items to see if my concerns are warranted or not.

Idk if they stayed in the sporty settings and just didn't switch to something more plush. After all they were complimenting the truck's sports car-like handling.
