Someone probably left it there before the tide came in. Low tide was about 11:30pm day before yesterday, so when someone might be out for nookie.

During summer around the world, everyday somewhere this is probably happening and some places on somedays more than 1. Drivers leaving vehicles on beach during low tide and later the high tide comes in and floods or washes away the vehicles.

The Tesla one mentioned at top of post made TV news only because it is a Tesla.
More Tesla & EV bashing. They would have really loved it if the Tesla had also caught fire.

Cable Beach’s monster tides claim three vehicles in four days after they became stranded off

CAR gets STUCK & RESCUED by RNLI! FLOODED road at HIGH TIDE Mersea Strood
On Sunday the 7th of November there was a huge high tide of 5.80m, so obviously I went for a paddle! Mersea Island is the UK's most easterly inhabited island and there is one road on and one road off, The Strood. When the tide is over 5m, the road gets covered by the sea.
