I do not have a wall charger or any of that equipment installed. Disappointed not getting the equipment after first in January Tesla said I was approved. Now?

Thank you for completing the Powershare Home Backup survey. Because you already have Powerwall installed, your home is on the way to being fully configured for Home Backup.

To finalize your Home Backup setup, you need to have home charging backed up by your Powerwall. When using Powerwall, Home Backup is compatible with any home charging unit, but 240V charging will provide the best experience. Our recommended home charging solution is either Wall Connector or Universal Wall Connector. To confirm whether your home charging is 240V and backed up by Powerwall, follow the steps below.

In place of Home Backup equipment, you will receive a $700 voucher for Tesla Shop. You can use this voucher to purchase home charging to complete your Home Backup setup – or to purchase other charging equipment, apparel, accessories and more. For help installing your preferred home charging solution, contact a Certified Installer listed on our website.

The equipment is sent to the Tesla approved installer once you agree to installation. Since you don’t have a wall charger, they’re offering you $700 towards the purchase of one. You can get a universal wall charger for that amount.

And then you can contact a certified installer for the installation. They won’t send it directly to you. You have to go through one of their approved installers.

This is what I found online but I’m sure there’s folks here who know the difference in finer detail that can help you decide which is best.

“While the normal wall connector includes the company's own charging equipment, suitable for charging a Tesla, the universal wall connector includes both the North American Charging Standard (NACS) plug and an easy-to-use J1772 adapter.”

*If you have an existing outlet approved for charging by your installer, no installation is required. Installing a new 240 V outlet can cost $750 - $1,500. Charging speed is up to 3 mph with a standard household outlet, or up to 30 mph with a 240 V outlet.
†Refer to Wall Connector and Mobile Connectorcharging speed tables for Tesla vehicles. Maximum charge rate for Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive and Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive is 32A. Charging speeds for non-Tesla vehicles will vary.

Just received an email from Tesla. Since I already own Powerwalls, they’re offering me a $700 voucher to purchase a charger myself. While the voucher exceeds the charger’s cost, I don’t feel adequately compensated as they’re not providing the Powerwall gateway device.😐

That’s better than 6 mo free supercharging IMO. Hopefully I can get an offer like that when I decline to pay $4k installation charge for the backup I have been approved for and the electrician keeps the hardware.

I received this letter too. Doesn’t a new gateway cost about $1,800? Why is it possible for Tesla, to unilaterally declare a change in what was supposed to be delivered when they cashed my check? How is $700 that must be spent in the Tesla store, an equivalent value? What recourse is available to owners who have opted out of arbitration?

@Steelrebels, I received the same email.

I'm reading it as "you basically have everything you need to power your house from your Cybertruck, so here's $700 towards something else from the Tesla Shop".

I have Powerwalls and a recent wall charger, so I think I don't need anything else. Now I'm just mad I already bought the Vault Divider and Bins before getting the credit, but I'm sure something else will pop up to spend the money on lol.

I have referral points and was planning to spend them on a Wall Charger to resell or install in one of my kid’s home. Like the FSCT Powershare equipment, Tesla has changed the delivery process on all of their electrical stuff to require delivery to an approved electrician. I don’t like being told which contractor I have to use. What if I don’t like his installation terms?

You’re welcome. Glad it helped.
I found on Tesla both Wall Connectors do Power Share for Cybertruck which I didn't know both were capable of which makes things easier

right, all equipment goes to contractor first. Once you get approval you will get a list of local certified electrical companies to choose from for installation. I sent out emails to 6 companies with 5 star reviews and waiting on them to visit and give me quotes. The one thing I don't like is Tesla saying since I have Power Walls I get a credit for wall charger to buy myself then find a contractor to install it. I wanted the powershare equipment. The V3 and Wall connector are 2000 not 700 so Imm getting shorted there.
