Hello everyone,
I know I have been complaining that Tesla passed me up on the reservation list.
Well! I just got the invitation to purchase the FS version. It looks like Tesla is starting back at the top of the list and hitting up on the reservations that they passed over for the FS. I would love to accommodate this invitation, but really don't want to pay this $20K +tax = $1200($6000 (instead of $4800))+$7500 (tax credit lose). This means I will pay $28,700 more for the FS model. I will get about FSD (which I have currently and don't really use much), some accessories, House Power share (cost me $4000 to hook up) and a badge. Maybe worth a total of $18,000 MAX. So about $2000 I would normally want to order after purchase of Standard CT.
So, $28,700 - $2000 accessories = $26,700 extra for the FS.
IS IT REALLY WORTH IT?
Waiting means end of year most likely before delivery of normal CT.
Time for Tesla to get battery technology improved, Correct some manufacturing current issues, update software issues.

Not waiting means:
Getting the CT now, paying more, living with non FDS and Auto pilot for a while, living with current battery efficiency.

Frustrating on what I should Do.
What do you all think?

I think with this big batch of confirmations of processing FS homeshare is a sign they are getting ready to send out Non FS orders soon.

It is worth it to me. It would most likely be 2025 before you get another opportunity. By the time you get another chance, there might not be the $7500 credit available.

Lots of people still living in fantasy land thinking the non FS will be ready for them to buy soon. 2024 is the FS year and unfortunately that is reality.

Congrats!

I don't think you are helping people here with your speculation. No evidence and people may take you seriously. Tesla can't even get hub caps for the FS. What makes you think they even have all season tires ready to go for the regular Cybertruck? FS AWD is now pushed through April, which is probably June in Tesla time. Why would they even start taking orders now?

LOL. what? you think a guess is going to ruin peoples lives? come on man. Don't hate people just because we have an opinion or can speak. Chill out and try listening instead of speaking first. you just said it yourself "FS AWD will be pushed to June". You just guessed and possibly made someone jump off a bridge!!! Watch what you say.....LMAO. Oh and have a great day.

You can look at all my last posts and my reasoning has been more sound than the people speculating on here. I go by past Tesla trends and current data.

I pushed back against the nonsense that people were saying about batteries being the bottle neck. I pushed back early against the insanity that 1000 FS will be produced. I pushed back against the insanity that 80% of orders for FS were accounted for on this forum. I am now pushing back against the narrative that Tesla will soon be sending out non FS invites.

You may be right. Maybe they never intended to go out more than 2 days worth of reservations for FS invitations. I for one [selfishly] hoped they would get to my number (and invite me) but am disheartened today.

I am on the fence at this point. It is a definite unknown as to when the non FS will be available.
And , I am not getting any younger. I really want the CT now, but $400 a month more unless I put $20K down payment. I wonder how long I have to book this FS version?

I appreciate all of the input, both sides of the comments are welcome. As an engineer,
I need inputs for decisions.

Well it's beyond two days now. My order wasn't placed until Dec 22 and have people saying January 24th orders that they received their Approval. so it's like a big final batch approval went out from 3rd week orders to all FS orders. I absolutely could be wrong but just putting my 2 cents in.

This is good news in that it shows Tesla is continuing to accept new orders, that they haven't hit any production snags that prevent continuing deliveries.
VIN's to delivery are taking two weeks for people now and that could be extended. It just takes one major issue to have a setback. The deliveries without hub caps is alarming to me. Not a big deal, but a constraint in the production has popped up. If this was a more critical component, we would see a month in delays.

For right now, the best data we have IMO is the VIN to delivery. If this stays consistent, we are in a good place.

I know, reality of it is a bitch. choices to be made now. I was set on waiting before when I was passed up, but now I am wanting it now and not wanting to wait.
