Pretty new to this solar thing, but I do have a cybertruck and a gateway with powershare. No powerwalls. Is there any disadvantage in terms of integration with the Tesla app if I go with non Tesla branded solar panels? Apparently they have higher wattage output than the tesla ones. Looks like I'll still be able to monitor solar power generation and usage as if they were tesla panels?

Thanks

The panels don't do any reporting, the inverters do.
Non powerwall solar may require an Energy Monitor:

Note: Powershare is not yet compatible with solar (AFAIK).

The big question is do you go micro inverter of string.

Tesla for the most part uses the Q-Cell panels and they pair that with their In-house Tesla inverter.

I recommend getting at least one Powerwall 3 with this setup.

With this configuration you will be able to monitor consumption, generation, production and your backup battery levels.

An additional huge benefit you get is the ability to power your home from the cyber truck as well. (PowerShare)

Now for the Enphase solution:

Enphase IQ8+ inverters are truly amazing. They even have a version that during a power outage the system allows you to use the power generated during the day without a back-up battery.

Mostly people went the micro converter route because the string inverters were not very reliable and optimizers weren’t really a thing yet.

Today’s Tesla ‘s inverter is extremely reliable.

Ultimately I would go the Tesla eco-system route

I have it on two of our homes and it’s fantastic

I already have powershare and can do this already.

Powershare is not yet compatible with solar
So what does this mean exactly? Powershare won't work?

Thanks guys I appreciate the input. These guys claim it's all compatible with Tesla and its a great deal since there's no upfront costs. They say that empase converters are used all the time with Tesla systems...

Right. Currently, the Powershare software doesn't yet work with Powerwalls (next year) nor solar (this year?).

Powerwall 2 can AC couple with micro inverters.
Powerwall 3 has its own string inverter which would work with any brand panel.
Powershare is new and has the above limitations.
