I know I'm not the first to post it on here, but I think it deserves its own thread.

$12k is $100/mo over ten years, $200/mo over 5. The current monthly price of FSD is $199.

That's now $5k more than I reserved mine at.

@ 7k, still interested. If upgrade to quad and price increases to 12k, most likely will not get FSD. Same if the 7K is not honored.

Since ai detest monthly fees, FSD service is out too.

Gah.

Should have locked in the early FSD pricing. Literally twice as much. Hopefully this means it's finally going to be released to a broader base.

I know I want FSD, just don't know if I $12,000 want it. Was hoping this wouldn't come until after the Cybertruck launch.

The increase is unsurprising. Elon has always said FSD price would rise as the capabilities expanded.

Iā€™ve got the lower price locked in for my CT, but the software does not convey with the owner. If the truck is stolen or totaled, I get to pay all over again.

I believe, at this point, Tesla will not review my order for the disappearing FSD I ordered when I placed my reservation.....that being said, I doubt very seriously I will get it at 12k.....plus the tri-motor to quad upgrade and the probable impending price increase for that, they will probably lose me as a customer for the Cybertruck.....even if I downgrade to dual motor, I will lose my place in line and have to wait another 2-3 years.....there will be plenty of other options out there by the time Tesla decides to start production/delivery of the Cybertruck.......In addition, I have not heard any information as to the arrival of the IDRA (giga press) equipment....this take 3-5 months for set-up and then calibration for 3-4 more months....so we are probably not seeing Andy production releases until late 4th quarter.....a real disappointment....

so after, almost 4 years, we still dont have a finished design we can see, pricing still increases, models are deleted, and buyers are given the "opportunity" to buy the next model at what may be an even higher price.....if I sound frustrated, I am......but I getting really tired of being lead around by promises and visions of grandure. My grandchildren will be college graduates before we see our truck.

To be fair, just over two years.

Spin statement, almost 4 years is just as accurate as almost 10 year depending on perspective. ?
I stand corrected....fingers are not as agile as they used to be....

I like the idea of FSD but I donā€™t care to pay for it, at least not as it is now. Itā€™s not truly FSD yet and probably wonā€™t be for a while. Autopilot is more than enough for me. Iā€˜m confident Tesla will have FSD figured out by the time I need to buy another EV though and I would likely purchase it then.

This $$,$$$ FSD framing device Elon likes, obscures its full potential. Instead, consider FSD as what it truly is, a ā€˜license to useā€˜ software. Hold for a cyberminute the hardware attached counterarguments. Iā€™ll get there, too.

Elon values FSD in bottomline USD and deaths denominations. In reality, FSD is the better technology over all others, Tesla should be making FSD ubiquitous - a standard. Like Microsoft, Tesla should position FSD to promiscuously license it for all cars. Elon should embrace the world of automotive with FSD by affordably licensing PUREvision on every vehicle sold - same as Microsoft did on PCā€™s.

OK the hdwe. Intel Mobileye, Qualcomm, SONYvision, etcā€¦ are following GPU/CPUā€™s into the automotive space for starters. Second, Legacy OEM continue branding driver enhanced CPU-based features making cars cruze better, lane control and braking emergencies for driver safety. OEM are not good at software operating systems for automobiles and cannot fathom removing the ā€˜Driverā€™ from its car concepts, just good at feature selling.

Itā€™s safe to assume drivers want safer cars - most donā€™t want to die! Most already own and are familiar with computers. Eliminating the human in computer speak is the whole point of a having a computer whether just printing, email, calendaring or programming. Of course, people would accept a FSD license to make a car safer that is state-of-the-art computerized. Whatā€™s the point? Thatā€™s the direction cars are heading, China minicars notwithstanding.

Tesla has its branded hardware TeslaVISION system of cameras and dual SoC AI chips it will retain to make the safest Teslas exclusive or sell separately at a premium TESLA-Inside branding play.

FSD framed as a carOS licensed to every OEM model made is the safety umbrella for getting everybody covered is the cardinal vision. Spinning off FSD would be creating the AI operating system for the planet based on vision in automotive, air, space, sea, underwater and underground FSD could be the next X-company.

At scale, no longer is FSD for cars the $XXXXXX proposition people are facing to be safe after PUREvision development costs are spread over all autos. Tesla keeps proprietary TeslaVISION. It keeps and builds on Teslas networking advantages over other PUREvision cars. But critically, FSD is everywhere the standard even Tesla uses - all cars use FSD.

At the end of the day, Elon recoups the HUGE cost burden to accomplish something that was harder than imaginable. Tesla enjoys the perk of network integration for which it is famously best in class. Lastly, Elon adds one more X company to his growing list of successes. OEM conquer driver safety that took AI and the largest supercomputer in the world made specifically for driving and dedicated to OTA updates to keep it that way.

He's already planning on licensing the tech to other car companies. So he gets both the benefits of their income, and all of you willing to pay upwards of 12k for it. Enjoy the novelty!

so far you cannot. and I heard if you sell the car, the new owner would have to pay telsa, not u, for the re-activation of it. im not entirely sure if this is full true, or not
