I still have 7 more years to change drive train, but even without that, regular Porsche service is ridiculously expensive. I’m getting mixed messages from Tesla owners saying Test servicing is equally expensive. IDK ?‍♂
I don't think that many people could answer this. Servicing is just something that is rarely done. The early Model S and Model X may have had some issues, but there really doesn't seem to be any consistent things past then. Sure, a couple of one-offs, but not much consistency.

That's been my experience. The early Model S and Model X had a good number of real issues, while the Model 3 and Model Y have very few.

Tesla was a new automaker when they designed and engineered the S &X (and let's not even talk about the original Roadster). But they knew that to survive they needed to use data to keep warranty expense to a minimum and they did exactly that. As soon as they saw a better way to do something, they implemented it. And they periodically update the entire vehicle, making it better and cheaper to manufacture. Those manufacturing innovations are the real improvements and many of them apply to the Cybertruck, right down to battery packs, giga-castings, motors, etc.

The bottom line is that Tesla is a much different, much more experienced manufacturer now than then. And they started out pretty unbelievably good, just using first principles design, engineering and manufacturing, considering they didn't have a century of experience like most other manufacturers.

thanks!
Tesla Long Beach asked me to come right back in to repair the pedal and they did. They also ordered a new on for me because the fix has two holes now. And a bonus, they fixed my gear selector! That made me feel a lot better.

Do you know how they fixed your gear selector panel? Mine fell off the first day and it is very annoying and dangerous.

According to the others, it was just snapped in wrong. If the other head liner panels are slightly off, there's pressure and the center one comes off.

Thanks I've tried clipping it back in a dozen times and made sure it's all lined up. The second problem is the sun visors magnetically clip to it so when I go to pull them off it rips the overhear gear shift with them. It's definitely not clipping in correctly. I'll keep trying!

Yeah, so one of the neighboring trim pieces must be off slightly, from what I've read.

Update…

I got my truck back on Friday April 26th, and everything worked well.

The next day while driving in a parking lot, the tailgate just randomly opened. I parked and closed it. It happened again while I was in the store. I closed it and it stayed closed. And I mean, stayed closed. I kept getting warnings that it was open while I’m driving but it never opened again. I couldn’t open it at all using the button, app, display, or even the emergency release. One of the emergency release ribbons won’t move at all.

I took it back on on Monday the 29th and it has been in the shop ever since. They are trying everything that they can think of and now they are hoping for it to be ready by Thursday the 9th.

They gave me a Model S Plaid as a loaner. It’s fun but I honestly miss my truck.
