I was taking a right turn out of a convenience store driveway the other day, waiting for the traffic to go by and noticed the driver, a female, was apparently laughing hysterically at my truck. She was alone, and pointing at my truck and laughing her ass off. I initially smiled because, what else could I do, but with a second or two, I realized she was laughing derisively. She was like, “what kind of f….-tard would drive something like that?” Or, “That’s the stupidest shit I’ve ever seen.” Granted, she could have been having a weird reaction to a stroke or something but I’m pretty sure I saw what I saw. Then today, I was at a four way stop and a guy in a Nissan tundra or something smiled and then chuckled like: “what a douchebag.” Or, who the fuck would drive something like that?”
I could be a little paranoid, but I think I saw what I saw, more or less. The thing is, what is so wrong with our society that people can feel so smug about their judgments about something or someone that they can feel free to openly mock or jeer at others that they don’t even know? I could get way into this but I won’t.
I understand that Musk is on the wrong side of the line for many people, including myself. But the cancelling is so hard for me to understand. I not only don’t like Priusss , I hate them. But I’m not going to pull up to a driver of a Prius and feign hysteria because they’re so ridiculous. To each their own. Whatever floats your boat.
I’ll keep driving my Cybertruck, regardless of the haters. But I sure al hell hope people can have some grace in these divided times.

Just look at it as it’s there problem not yours. Trolls on here , people on redit with specific forums to hate, people like the ones you encountered. They are not happy with them selfs otherwise why would you put so much energy and time in what someone you don’t even know drives? It’s a wild world these days

You’re not imagining things.

There is a subset of people who are moving from keyboard warriors to IRL bullies.

The “laughter” is obviously fake or highly exaggerated in hopes you see them and feel bad.

Unfortunately you will get no sympathy. If the cybertruck was $15k and marketed as an ultra affordable vehicle for the masses, this wouldn’t be happening. And that tells you pretty much all you need to know.

I know I sound like a broken record, but really dark tint has cut out a lot of the on-road smacked-assery. Not knowing who they're engaging with, or if they are even noticed, takes the wind out of their sails to some degree.

Just came back from a road trip from Northern VA to Central TX. The entire trip I actually just had one pudgy biker guy nod his head side to side when he passed.

The online thing is a weird one. I used to slow down on the road when I saw someone filming the truck, so they could get good footage. Then I started finding my truck on a bunch of local Cybertruck/EV hate posts. Needless to say, I no longer do that.

I know @Administrator does not tolerate politics on the forum. So, this is a really difficult topic to discuss. Unfortunately, the Cybertruck is BEING made political.

I was in York, Pennsylvania a week ago for a pinball show and tournament. I listened to a political ad on the radio, it doesn't matter which side (BTW, I feel sorry for residents of the commonwealth, they are being inundated with political ads!). Anyhow, the last line of that 30" spot was, "Remember this the next time a guy goes zipping by you in a Cybertruck"

Election can't be over soon enough. I think most of this stuff will subside after it...

I sleep and drive soundly knowing my Cybertruck existing in the world is itself a giant self driving stainless steel middle finger to all the snowflakes and communists out there.

The cybertruck is amazing. Anyone who actually drives one already knows that.

My friends all know that I'm a very conservative guy. The uninformed people see politics and Musk as black & white. Obviously during an election year we could argue about the color of the sky. The reality is that I'm a little green but I didn't buy the CT for that reason. The revolutionary technology, design and brutalistic appearance in an eye watering performance envelope seals the deal. So when my friends who have ingested all of the FUD ask me questions I hit it out of the park with facts like:
1. Battery & drive train 8 year, 150,000 warranty, battery expected to last 300,000 - 500,000 miles
2. Most American made truck at 65% vs closest competitor the F-150 at 32%
3. Dirt cheap to run even factoring in Superchargers
4. Ubiquitous Superchargers and their 99% up rate
5. Durability of truck aka bullet proof doors
6. The ground breaking technical innovations

I may or may not have purchased a trailer hitch flag holder and flag that may be adorning my truck on November 6th. Either way as Jay Leno has repeatedly stated we should be heartily celebrating Tesla as an American company disrupting the world and leading the charge on so many levels. Hating Tesla is a fools errand.

Just mirror back whatever they are offering to you. You'd be surprised how quickly their actions stop when you point and laugh at their car. People normally get a quick dose of self shame when they realize what their actions actually look like.

I ignore humans and focus on the road. Unless they are obstacles, obviously. Don’t spend too much time looking at people in their cars when driving. That’s weird.

You are far too sensitive! You should have ignored it and kept it moving!
