There is NOTHING as safe on the road. Let me explain...
I ventured on another road trip recently, doesn't matter what, where, etc...
I was on self driving with maybe 6 or 8 other random vehicles near me traveling approximately 65 in a 55, clear conditions, nitetime, no big deal. My Beast was preparing to change lanes at the moment. After 2-3 seconds of hesitation with turn signal on, I thought, "Cmon, I would have gone already!"
Just then, a vehicle traveling at a very high rate (well over 120 mph) passed me on my right and somehow made it thru the pack of cars near me unscathed!
How did it (my Beast) know to wait?
That hesitation by my Cybertruck saved my life along with others near me two days ago.
I believe history will show a motor vehicle renaissance of safety that started with self driving.
We, like our beloved vehicles, must learn to be safer.

I was in the same situation once while driving manually. I changed lanes then noticed a vehicle coming up hella fast behind me. Beast mode saved me. Always drive in Beast mode, guys and gals.

As humans when looking forward we aren't seeing behind us. While looking behind us we aren't seeing in front of us. FSD is looking 360 degrees constantly and this seems like a major advantage to FSD.

The truck does not see potholes or highway Medians, has attempted to make a left turn into the opposite lane of traffic several times, drives over the line onto the right shoulder and pulls out in front of vehicles. These are the things off the top of my head.

In regard to a vehicle approaching from behind, the CT has a serious advantage.... it does not HAVE to use its own installed mirrors or meager display!! :ROFLMAO:

I believe weve reached a point where FSD is safer than a human driver...
FSD has certainly made me a safer driver when I'm not using it. And when I do use FSD, vast majority of my drives, I know FSD won't get drowsy, inattentive, and doesn't get upset.

not even close.
Waymos are reporting less accidents per mile driven than humans. Unfortunately we may never know the actual rate with Tesla as they are opaque with their data. I have doubts Tesla will pull it off without LIDAR, but time will tell.

Anyone who uses FSD with the v13.x.x version already knows that FSD supervised is already safer than most humans.

The most amazing thing is that v13 isn't even the final form! I can't wait to see how good v14 is.

Those are awful results. In my experience of thousands of miles using FSD in my CT none of those or any other scary maneuvers ever happened to me. I remain very alert monitoring the FSD.

This matches my experience driving over 10k FSD miles in 2 months in 2025.
