PowerShare is useless in South Florida without the ability to handle AC start up load. If you are looking to run whole home for a couple days to ride out the distribution grid outages after a hurricane then seek other options and possibly an AWD CT if the $4000 credit and PowerShare was a selling point.
You just need a soft starter installed on the AC outside unit. Iā€™ve had one for 4 years. I have powerwalls and they also wonā€™t start the AC without the soft starter.

My powerwalls have no problem starting my ACā€¦.(see pic in my previous post).

I convinced my wife to opt for the Beast when I started looking at the new Yamaha R1. She got on board real quick with Beast instead of the sport bike.
I donā€™t blame her one bit. My previous husband lost his life on a GSXR.
Iā€™d happily pay many thousands more to not have the police show up at dinner time to tell me my husband is dead.

Oh she knows. Sheā€™s the one buying it for me. Wasnā€™t too happy with it jumping from the original 80k-130k. But Iā€™ve been driving the same care for almost 15yrs with 225k miles on it. She knows Iā€™ll drive the Beast till it falls apart
Very nice! You hit a jackpot in finding a great partner šŸ„°.

Iā€™m so sorry to hear that Stacy! Motorcycle is a very dangerous sport, no matter how skilled the rider is. I stopped riding my Ducati on regular roads now. I only do track days. Itā€™s insane to see how many distracted drivers are out there. No money can fill in the loss!

When did you configure for your beast?
I configured and ordered FS on 12/21, but I have put it on hold till June 1st. I need to sell my other vehicles to make room for CT. I also have another newer reservation. If I cannot sell my other vehicles by June and Tesla doesnā€™t extend the hold, which they hinted last week while extending the hold, I might cancel the early reservation and go with the regular Beast. I have to wait for another few years though!

I agree! Note that there are also people who have never sat in a vehicle that has the same acceleration as 911 Turbo S, which costs $300K. Is that needed for a truck? Absolutely not! Is that something some people dig? Absolutely yes! Otherwise Tesla had no reason to put Trimotor and boast about Porsche 911 level acceleration if there is no market for it.

I donā€™t think Beast is just for show off or to get chicks. Some people do like sports car driving experience. If they are getting that in a vehicle that can do some of the truck stuff, itā€™s best of both worlds. Tesla wants to get customers from both sides. They donā€™t want just the Truck guys. They want more of everything but not one of the same thing, unlike Rivian or Ford. Youā€™ll see people from Kim Kardashians to Ranch owners buying CT. Just because Beast power and acceleration is not needed for Truck purposes doesnā€™t mean itā€™s a waste of money. Some see that has paying 20K extra to get Track performance cars that cost a fortune. Beast version is an absolutely brilliant choice made by Tesla. Those who need the best of both worlds now have an option. Traditional truck owners donā€™t need that performance, but that doesnā€™t mean there is no demand for it.
Well said! Hopefully not your ā€final answerā€œ.

After having owned an FSAWD for a couple weeks now I can honestly say that I'm not disappointed that I didn't go the "Beast" route. From a pure specs perspective, the Beast has power/acceleration/speed over the AWD but the AWD has more range and a rear locking differential (that will probably be more valuable (to me) than 200 extra horsepower in the backcountry) all while still being faster than most sports cars.

It's funny that @Killlbox mentioned a Lotus because as a former Elise owner I was very tempted by the Emira. For perspective though, the Cybertruck (AWD) is actually faster than a Lotus Emira in both 0-60 (CT: 4.1s (MotorTrend Tested at 3.8) vs Emira: 4.2s) and the 1/4 Mile (CT: 12.4s vs Emira: 12.7s). This is to say that the Cybertruck (AWD) is still ridiculously fast for a stainless steel truck that weighs nearly 7000lbs. At the end of the day, I had the means to order either but felt the extra power/speed of the "Beast" was more of a parlor trick than anything and decided for my use-cases, range is more important. If the Beast had more range then I probably would have gone that route simply for that reason but with the same or less, the choice (for me) was easy. YMMV!

Does anyone know with the extra torque will the range be better while towing with the beast?

I'm in the same boat. I do have a use for the powerwall. Live in the country so, no power, means no water.

Or you could install one of these at the same time. A solar salesman once told me he puts these on every system when he installs. IF you don't like clicking links, its generic youtube video about the advantages of a soft start capacitor for AC, which helps when using generator power during an outage.

I don't have either version of the Cybertruck, but I do have a Model Y performance, and a Model X 75D. According to specs, the Y should be night and day quicker. If I were to line them up that would be true. But for 99% of normal driving, the "slow" X out accelerates everyone else off the line. Now I am not racing people, just safely pulling off the line. The X reaches posted speeds so smoothly, powerfully, and quickly. If I need to merge in a small gap in traffic, I always know I can.
If budget matters most, just wait for foundation to drop off, and Beast is the same price as todays AWD.

For me, the AWD is fast enough.
