I recently had my tonneau serviced to try fix my more than normal leak. Actually, the foam where the sail meets the glass top is what I thought would be addressed. Instead, I now notice there's a new bar across the back window when the tonneau is closed. Looks like an extra cross member. I am pretty sure I don't remember that being there previously. Not a ton of detail on the manifest for the work either. I was curious if anyone else has the bar?

Another question - Do you have that slat right above the bar that is on the curve down?

Just had this done as well. Will check tomorrow. What I can say is that I get more water in the vault after the service. Going to mess around with putting a new rubber seal in like others have done. It seems like tonneau doesn’t push as hard against the tailgate now which is part of the reason for more water ingress. In the end it isn’t something I plan to really address with the service center. 99% of the time I don’t give a hoot how much water gets in the bed. Would be nice if we are ever on a road trip and I want to wash the truck while we have luggage in the vault.

I went to a new service center in Raleigh and I wonder if techs are real new. There was a new seal that they are supposed to be using and that was my hope. I didn't have any other tonneau issues. Maybe I should have left well enough alone. I guess I need to call and see what I can find out.

My tonneau is "missing a slat", and has at least 2 fewer than yours in the picture, but does not leak. All of the water came in from the "applique seal" between the plastic bit and the glass roof. Once that was fixed, no water!

They didn’t do anything that the service bulletin outlines. No extra slats and no rubber seal, I can feel the foam one still there. Going to take it apart today, see what I can do. I may ask them about it some day.

I was incorrect. The rubber seal is attached to the aero flap above/behind the foam (foam that is attached to the glass) on top, so they did replace that. I did have to adjust the replacement aero flap as it was set so low the tonneau was hitting it hard when it was come up from being open. All set now but I'm sure it will still have water ingress as there is not an extra slat as the bulletin calls out. :/

This is a picture from the notateslaapp post (https://www.notateslaapp.com/news/2...uck-tonneau-cover-leaks-with-new-rubber-seals)

That seal is on the top of new aero flap they replaced.

I don't think I have the new aero flap. I need to look. I am kinda discouraged I have to go back for this. Also had a rattling subwoofer that the invoice states they didn't have the part to replace so they "adhered" something to a frame. I want that replaced to regardless if it is fixed it. I would love it if we had more communication with the tech.

I put this out there about 7 months ago for the DIY leak fix for your aero cover. It’s been 7 months since the DIY fix was performed, the bed of the truck is still watertight with no water intrusion what so ever. I even made sure to use products that anyone can easily find and purchase at your local big box store. Trust me anyone can do this repair, just pay attention to DETAIL and follow the video if needed. Tesla is amazing…really amazing, but don’t expect them to alter or customize anything outside of the products currently being manufactured or stray away from current written repair procedures. A little bit of water intrusion the bed is no big deal to most, but probably is for all who is reading this. Here you go, please let me know if you have any questions. Here to help.
