It dawned on me that my plan to have a nice size camping trailer as my rational for needing a Cybertruck has a fatal flaw. Correct me if I'm wrong, (goes without saying I know) but all the charge stations I've noticed would necessitate unhooking and parking the trailer somewhere to access the charger. Seems like pita to do every 150 miles or so. It's not like pulling up to the gas pump.

There was a pull through spot constructed right near my house recently, so i am happy.. Forgot to take a picture. But this is a valid concern. Hopefully more and more of these will be constructed in the future.

This is something i plan on doing at least half a dozen times a year, so i too hope this doesn't become too much of an issue. But at least for me, im not towing for road trips: just to nearby mountain lakes. So i'd only have to unhook once anyway, not super worried about it.

There are some places where you'll need to unhook, but other places where you won't. There are some pull thru SuperCharger stations and the newer the location the more likely that it will be either pull thru or have a head in parking stall at the location. At lightly used (usually rural) station, I've often found that I'm the only car charging at a multiple charger location, so pulling in sideways across several parking slots doesn't inconvenience ANYBODY. The elegant thing about when pulling a camping trailer is that you are far more likely to need to use these lightly used, newer installations, so the situations you'll need to unhook should be few and far between.

You're camping, so relax. Enjoy the little upper body workout you get when chocking the wheels and cranking the tongue jack off the truck. After pulling a trailer on the highway for several hours your shoulders will appreciate the stretch! 😃

It's not like Tesla has to "re-invent" the wheel with these Super Chargers they already have many pull thru SC Stations up and running in European locations, maybe they were directed to do so by local codes I am guessing cause it is not happening fast enough here in the States. It is definitely a deal beaker if one is pulling a horse trailer with live animals that move about, you CANNOT disconnect from the tow vehicle with horses inside.

Why doesn't it have its own feet?

So weird.

Not only all that, on long drives, Tesla charging on those likely RV routes will most likely provide pull-throughs.

Also, we are on the cusp of traditional fuel stations converting to EV charging, especially the ones lining similar routes, they will have drive-throughs for sure.

Give it a couple of years. Exceptions won't kill me, It will be a non-issue imo.

Just in case you haven't heard of this...

It sounds very promising in solving the hitch and unhitch issues.

I saw this on the way back from seeing the CT in a showroom. I’m not sure that is the intended installation technique…

I bet it keeps the truck from feeling very tippy (top heavy)... And given the bed weight limit on some trucks, maybe the saver way to move it?

I understand there will be pull thru charging stations. I travel from San Diego out to the Anza Borrego Springs desert, there is a Tesla charging station on the way in Santa Ysabel. Adjacent is a huge dirt area. Plan is to unhook my future travel trailer and leave it while I charge the CT. Tesla owners think ahead!
