You tell zero lies. My wife and I are going to test drive a model s when I return from a work trip.
I'm thinking about it. <2.0 0-60, 200mph top speed, 399mile range, that gorgeous low wide stance... And I don't have to wait 2-4 years...

I’m roughly 167,000 in line. Which puts me at about a year out. COVid and everything screwed this up. I gave my son my truck. Wife is waiting on a 2023 or 2024 Seqouia TRD Pro. I have a work car, but I’m tired of sharing the wife’s. Been waiting for this cyber forever.

So getting a new car and not waiting a year sounds nice. Especially a catch like that Model S for that price.

Tesla Cybertruck Tri-Motor Variants of Release Candidates Built? - [9/4/23] 6DFA4CD2-CD19-4E91-A7EF-76E38696CD9D

I believe there was an inserted gap in numbering between end of 600 and begin of 700

consistent with (not dispositive of) some step-change shift between the 600-series RCs and now these 700-series RCs, with that several-day slowdown between

I wouldn’t have thought much of it, had there been white trim interiors sprinkled among the first ~100. I wouldn’t have thought much of it had there been a slowdown and then similar colored trims come back online. I wouldn’t have thought much of it if nothing else changed and the VINs rolled from 600 to 700.

but getting to ~100 identical dark interior units, having a slowdown for a few days, then the next ones seen have for the first time white trim interiors and a VIN roll from 600 to 700, all - to me - points to the first 600 series all being dual motors with dark interiors, and they’ve just built the first few tri-motors all with white trim

there shouldn’t be as much reason to build another 100 tri-motor RCs. A lot of validation can occur on duals, with only certain validations needing for tri-specific builds.

White interior is usually an option on all Teslas no? I'm not sure it's indicative of trim level.
What makes you think the white interior trim makes it a trimotor? What's the correlation?
see above, in fine, but a few less obvious inferences omitted

Hey I hope you're right. I think Tesla will try to undercut rivians dual motor with CT trimotor so power to em if it's sooner rather than later.

Which is why I have argued that these are no longer validation vehicles. Tesla deserves more credit that that. They know how to produce now.

well, you’re wrong about all that.

there’s no ‘credit’ needing given here. Seems like you equate some arbitrary “speed” with some arbitrary “expertise”, both based on your gut. and, in your view, Tesla should be on with it already, lest it reflect poorly on them.

All that seems to reflect less on Tesla and more on a collective impatience by those who have been waiting a long time.

but meanwhile, these are all validation vehicles and not one of them has been completed on the majority of the volume production line (bc it’s not completed)

which in reality, is totally fine and doesn’t reflect negatively on Tesla at all.

And watching Joe's drone video a few days ago, I think the production line might be getting more solidified in the next 2 weeks. There was lots of equipment staged and it looked like it was for the production line.

I know Tesla wants to keeep production costs down, but I’d love a tri-motor with the driver display. Obviously we don’t notice any here and haven’t seen any since that Alpha about a year ago. I know it’s a pipe dream, but a brotha can dream, can’t he?!

They’ve cut the price so much on the Model S, I’m debating on purchasing that instead. However, I really want pickup.
What I wish Tesla would do is do licensed accessories like the bajillion driver displays for the Y and 3. That way I could get one without feeling like I'm risking warranty coverage in the unlikely scenario that I have problems.

Their vehicles are such blank canvases (even Hans said so) that it makes sense to support 3rd parties providing a whole bunch of accessories.

In fact Joe seemed to have some intelligence that the CT line was being shut down for more tooling. They will have to do that as more parts of the truck build get automated. Also, after Elon’s email about tolerances it is possible that they are tweaking the assembly to meet these new requirements.

those xwitter guys are all incorrect regarding “shutdown” in CT “production” line

meanwhile, they don’t know or don’t observe the distinction between there being two different “lines” for the CT at present - the high volume production line (continues to be incrementally built, no change there) and the low volume pilot line (where RC builds are completed to date)

not observing these distinctions means that when they hear incomplete “news” from within, they then take that incomplete info and map it over their already incomplete understanding of the goings-on

instead of a game of telephone, it’s a game of xwitter-phone

White will glare onto the windscreen.

OTOH, darker colors absorb heat.

Can I get “striped”?
Darker colours also radiate heat away better though, which in a breeze makes them cooler.
This is the second most important lesson you can learn from Ian Malcolm.
