New v4 Chargers are out there now.

The basic math: 1000v @ 615A = 615 kW. I think this means 500v vehicles will top off at 307 kW.

A charge rate of 615 kW crushes any other EV out there. Particularly since Cybertruck is likely more efficient than competitors.

Interesting thing is these were spotted in Europe.

Looks like the ones installed so far are limited to 250 kW after all. WTF.

But but but...Elon said we'd get megawatt charging just like the semi 😤
I think that he said that the Cybertruck would be able to use the Megachargers and that they would have a 1,000 volt architecture. I do not recall him saying that the Cybertruck would be able to charge at the full rate that the Semi charges at. Even 615 Kw would be huge. I wonder for how long it would be able to charge at that rate, 5-10 minutes? It would be very interesting to see a charge curve, but we will have to wait a year for that. For sure they will start off low and slowly change the charge curve, just as they have with all of their cars.

Just going to have to settle for charging the truck at 20 miles per minute like a savage.

(tapering curves will likely mean 25 miles per minute from 0-25% or so, dropping down to a slower pace after a bit)

Well snap.

I'm guessing each stall is rated "UP TO these really huge numbers" but the actual capability is limited by the on-site electronics. I could steal a V3 Supercharger and hook it up in my garage, but I'd never get 250kW from it lol

Someone said these are basically v3 chargers with the v4 look. I’ve also heard the backends are rated for v4 but convertible on the newer Superchargers they are installing.

Seems like maybe they are having issues getting v4 working right? They’ve been dinking around with this for some time. Maybe the cooling system in the charging handle?

To get it working in your garage, you just need to swipe the transformer box too.

Roll this bad-boy up and plug it in and you can have 3 friends over too! (Assuming you have 1000 kW service to your house… )

I'll run an extension to my neighbor, it's "heavy-duty" so it's cool

I believe each one of the cabinets are rated for 250kw and there are 4 cabinets per 4 chargers and they can be throttled or combined for more juice output...4 x 250kw is 1mw. Thought I read this somewhere. 🤷‍♀️

650kw backend is not the same as a 1MW charger.... the new 1MW charger cable is supposed to be a ble to do 1MW +. Is it a V4 cabinet yes.... has Tesla said its a v4 charger?

Maybe they are deploying V3 with the new cabinet for the longer cord?
