I've had my Cybertruck since February 2024 and the rearview mirror is the biggest miss on this truck. I've been looking all the available options out there and narrowed it down to Hansshow and Wolfbox. I decided to go with Hansshow because I like the OEM style bracket it uses to hold the digital mirror instead of just mounting it on top of the original mirror. Also it's a bit smaller and angular. So far I've been very happy with it!

I noticed most people opted to install the rearview camera on the tailgate area but I didn't want to do that because I didn't want a low angle view. Plus if you decide to use the tow hitch, you won't be able to see anything. I mounted on the top of the truck right on the plastic trim between the roof glass and the tonneau cover so that it can provide an overhead view of the rear while also looking into the truck bed (when open) if needed.

The overall install time took about 1 hour with half of the time trying to squeeze the wires inside the camera housing above the mirror. Routing the wires through the interior of the car and going outside was surprisingly easily. Anyway I made a quick video of my process below.

Lastly, I didn't like how the external camera is so boxy looking so for the meantime I had someone 3D print me a larger version of the cyber whistle and I used a dremal tool to convert it to house my camera. This will do for now, until I find a better solution. Anyone got any 3d Print designs to house this camera better?

I honestly have no idea why people care about the rear view mirror not having video or not being able to see out the back of the truck with the rear view mirror….100% of everything is being digested from the screen anyway so why is looking at the rear view there any different?! I don’t get the fixation…no offense, smh. After a couple of hours after getting my CT, I haven’t given it a 2nd thought

1. The mounted camera video feed gets a wider field of view (safer)
2. When I carry large items (that block the rear window) in the truck with the tailgate down. I can’t use my mirror or the tailgate camera.
3. I don’t like to look down at my screen for the tailgate video feed.

Also,:
4. Night vision is noticeably better on the Hansshow
5. With aftermarket transmitters, you can use it as a trailer camera.

Other than the location to view the screen, can you compare the view of the camera mount vs stock view? Is it the same view and resolution?

The new CT update made the rear view fully wide and the ability to zoom the view....
