Cybertruck Winter Apparel Now Available at CybertruckCovers:

We just released a new line of winter hats and warm clothing to add to your Cybertruck wardrobe. Check them out here!

Colored Covers Update:

Much progress has been made with our magnetic body covers for the Cybertruck. Our tests have proven that the magnetic panels remain firmly in place even at highway speeds up to 90 MPH. We were unable to blow them off in over hundreds of miles of real-word, adverse weather testing!

In none of our tests have we experienced any rust or corrosion developing underneath the panels. However, in light of recent negative media regarding magnets damaging the stainless steel surface of the Cybertruck, we are developing a solution to prevent corrosion should these reports prove to be true. For those of you who wish to install our magnetic colored covers for extended periods of time without removal for washing, a pre-treatment will be offered with our kits so you can apply a sealant to the stainless steel before applying the magnets. Tests are underway with this special stainless steel sealant in conjunction with our covers. We believe this will add the extra protection needed for peace of mind.

A lot of people have said this about the Cybertruck, and we know that’s pure opinion.

I would definitely be in, depending on color choices.

Wondering if it might be easier to add a thin layer of clear coating to the magnet-side. Serves the same purpose as applying a coating to the stainless but provides a no mess, no fuss installation without having to apply a chemical solution to the vehicle's stainless steel risking discoloration and damage.

In effect, that's what my long-term magnet test showed - no corrosion. But it did seem those bumper sticker-style magnets had a coating applied to them.

Just a thought, love to see the innovation in the aftermarket space!

There is already a vinyl coating on the magnetic side of the panels, but the theory of the problem is that moisture, in addition to salt or metallic grit can between trapped between the vinyl layer and the steel causing a festering chemical reaction that can lead to corrosion. Sealing the stainless steel surface with a clear coat product should prevent this from happening. This problem is not unique to magnets, but may also occur with conventional vinyl wraps and PPF.

Of course, regular removal of the magnets for cleaning and car washes would also prevent this possible scenario from happening, and making certain that the magnets are applied to a clean, dry, grit-free surface would be absolutely necessary. The ability to easily and temporarily remove magnetic covers for cleaning is a benefit that only applies to our products.
