Yeah, it's a Waymo ad, but they're no different than Tesla here. I think in terms of shadow droving, Waymo had a lead that they're squandering by not getting their sensors into more cars, like Tesla is doing.

Anyhow! They're demonstrating that their 'Waymo driver' can avoid accidents very well, even when such situations seemed impossible for a human driver to avoid. In these cases, they're doing shadow driving, much like Tesla does.

Hopefully they'll be able to figure out that last little bit of how to make the car communicate with users - something Tesla only has vaguely touched on with parking lot summon.

The more AI drivers out there, the more confidence others will have in the technology.
