Why would you measure such a thing in inches? x-x

Tesla is metric.

-Crissa
Well, honestly, a couple of reasons! First, that is one of the micrometers out of my shop, and I build in inches. So, I measured in inches. Too lazy to change it for this and change it back. Second, I believe that anyone that wants to drive a CT should have the capacity to use Google/Bing/DuckDuckGo/ChaGPT/Siri/Alexa/AnythingButYahoo to convert to their preferred method of measurement!

The points are quite hard to read.

But I see it's 3mm. ^-^

What do you build in micrometer inches?

LOL, Sure, if the price is right!

Sometimes I am making a veneer and need to check thickness, or a precise inlay, or cutting in for a box hinge, or mortise and tenons in some pieces, or I need to measure threads on a screw, or routing a pocket for my company medallion to fit perfectly flush, or...

This is what I mean by an inlay.

I like!

I do a lot of furniture myself as well, but more out of practicality because I want something that I can't buy, or wouldn't pay that much money for. Even have my own vacuum press for veneers/plastics etc.

My current furniture project, that has been sitting on the shelf for the last year, is building a zero gravity chair with a spot to mount an overhead monitor. I can't stand the 12ft desk I built anymore, that just seems to accumulate paperwork everywhere, so now I don't want a desk at all anymore, just for doing computer work. A simplified variation of this, but one that hangs from the ceiling. without any legs.

Thanks,

The chair looks like a great design challenge! I'd love to see your final design.
