After a long road trip a month ago, I started to hear a weird noise from somewhere in the dash area whenever my truck hits around 40 mph. It’s not wind noise because the noise will remain as I slow down to 30, but it will get louder as I increase speed until it disappears around 45. It will also go away if I make a sudden left or right turns while not decreasing my speed. It almost sounds like a fine crackling that you would hear scanning radio waves for an open signal. Not static, but weak crackling that could be coming from the front speaker, or possibly some sort of audible cavitation in a fluid line that builds pressure with speed? It’s definitely not coming from any of the other speakers, so I can’t definitively say it’s coming from a speaker at all, but it is consistent, repeatable and kind of annoying at those speeds without music on. I have a video, but don’t want to deal with uploading such a large file if it’s easier to just discuss it here.

I wonder if its feedback from the noise cancellation system 🤔

I think I'm also hearing similar sounds, especially during the first drive of the day. However, it seems to go away after driving for a while. Maybe it's related to the Cybertruck being cold? I’ve scheduled a service appointment and hope they notice this issue and fix it easily.

I think the sound is coming from outside and doesn't sound like it's plastic rattling.

It is definitely not a rattle. At first it clearly sounds like wind noise, but then you start playing with your speed and you realize it can’t be wind noise. I’m going to try and attach a video clip, the sound starts at 44 mph, so I immediately let off and you will hear the sound continue all the way down to the mid 20s where it wasn’t audible just a few moments ago. Once the sound is occurring, if I tap the accelerator, the sound goes away and then immediately comes back when I let off the pedal.

I have this exact same noise under the same circumstances. Light throttle around 30-45MPH when it's cold. After driving a while it seems to go away. It also seems to have gotten louder over time. 8K VIN.

Sounds like capacitor/coil whine. While if this is unusual it may signify a failure, it probably isn't.

This can vary from vehicle to vehicle, you should hear what my Zero sounds like when spun up without power...

I have the exact same thing. 9k VIN. 7k miles but started about 1500 miles ago. Live in the Midwest and started when it started getting below freezing at night. Almost like it coincides with the snowflake. Definitely does not sound like coil/cap whine at all. I thought it was wind noise for a few days also, but the same reasoning as yours made me realize it’s not. sounds mechanical to me. Almost like a bad water pump bearing grind, in the form of wind fluttering.

Will be watching this for updates.

I agree that mine has also become louder over time, but only slightly. It started in warm weather, so I don’t think it has anything to do with external temperature. What is tripping me up is the disappearance of the noise when turning left and right at those speeds down a tightly winding road, and the noise completely disappears during the highest side-force part of the turn. To me it really feels like there is some sort of fluid element here, possibly a pump that is pulling in some air, or like I said previously, the sound of fluid cavitation.

im out of town and without the truck for a few weeks. If this is unsolved by the time I get home, I’ll test the left and right cornering with affect to the noise.

Hey guys/gyals,

I have the EXACT same sound. My VIN is in the 48K numbers. I picked my non-FS truck from NJ on Nov-16. I’m about 2,000KM in.

Holy shit!!

I just dropped my truck off now for the same issue (I think)…plus a few other things like inverter recall etc.

I drove from San diego to Sedona and back. On my way back all of a sudden when I would hit about 8mph it sounded like a supercharger activated from the front dash/ drive unit area. Went away once I hit about 40 or mph.

Let you guys know what service says
