Great story and love the fact you went from a minivan to the Cybertruck!

You’re gonna love it and the whole Tesla experience of driving one and seeing how it constantly gets better with software updates.
Thank you! Yeah, I’m pretty excited about the software updates, my brother is a model Y owner and my mom has a model 3, they both wouldn’t stop talking about Tesla so you could imagine their excitement when I got the cybertruck. Pretty psyched!

I just spec’d out a CVT AWD turbo sienna.

$61,270 - holy crap vans are expensive now.
Spend 61k on a minivan, nobody bats an eye. Spend 79k on a cybertruck, everyone loses their minds.

really though, OP, congrats on the purchase. Ive found my truck to be an amazing, quiet, comfortable family vehicle… that happens to also be a truck, be bulletproof and look insane

100%. I’m shocked at how much other vehicles cost…and people pay for them. Didn’t realize a Sienna is that much. And those Grand Wagoneers are ridiculously priced (and why Stellantis is having major sales issues)

The old 240 Volvo sedan and wagon were rock solid. A lot of people wish Volvo still manufactured them.

Yeah man, absolutely too expensive for what it is. We test drove everything out there too, I don’t understand why they’ve gotten so pricey. Terrible value for what you’re getting, but apparently they can’t make enough of them. They’re great for utility! But for 40k at the most, 60k+ is outrageous for what you’re getting.

100%! I couldn’t believe what the van was going to cost and I’m frankly blown away at what we got for a bit more for the cybertruck. Thank you! Looking forward to a lot of memories with the family and agreed, it’s a very calm and quiet ride, we love that about it.

Yeah and nothing against the sienna or whatever else… all new cars have ballooned in price over time. So for those who want new, you have to choose your ridiculous. That said, relative to almost anything else new, the Cybertruck feels like a bargain.

Too late.
We just got our CT 2 weeks ago. My wife already wants it instead of our 3 year old Model Y.
It drives so good. And most don't even have a clue. I just did my 42 test drive and she were blown away . 78 miles in after Christmas traffic

Agreed. The Cybertruck is a screaming bargain at $79K. From where I sit, it's actually a $150K truck with all it comes with standard, including bodywork that is not easily dented or scratched. Tesla would sell it for that much except for the fact than few can afford $150K.

Get the 6-seat X. We also have CT, and I must say the X is better for road trips - more comfortable and efficient.
I need room for luggage. To mobility scooters . The x doesn't have enough space. For me

How is a mobility scooter different from a regular scooter? Isn't that kind of like saying "salsa sauce"? Or "hot water heater"?

So the story is that my family and I were extremely close to getting a 2025 Toyota sienna van and instead we pulled the trigger on a cybertruck and we couldn’t be happier. We’re a family of five, my wife and I and our three girls all in car seats, plus a golden retriever. We had a deposit on a Toyota sienna and after the second time it was delayed and we were told it won’t arrive until February, we pretty much got fed up and just went for it.

We decided to go test drive the cybertruck since we had been pretty intrigued by it and had jokingly talked about getting one in the past. I took all three of our car seats and we actually installed them for our test drive along with our 3 1/2-year-old who sat in the middle right in front of the display in the back, boy was she excited. My wife instantly fell in love with the truck, her favorite thing about it was that she could actually turn around and reach all the kids from the passenger seat, realizing she could give them snacks and reach them for any reason. I fell in love with steer by wire instantly, and have always wanted a truck. The only thing I was looking forward to in a van was the cargo space. We also love the fact that on our road trips, the girls would be sitting side-by-side and enjoying the experience together vs in a van where they would be sitting apart and one of them would be in the third row.

Driving the cybertruck was one of the most exciting things we’ve experienced in a while, especially compared to driving the van, which was one of the most boring experiences ever. We decided to order the truck the same day and took delivery just a week later. We’ve now had this tank sitting in our garage for about a week and I’ve just been constantly buying accessories and surfing the forums. We couldn’t be happier with our choice and now we’ve decided to get rid of our Volvo XC90 as well and replace it with a model X. The XC90 just wasn’t cutting it with three car seats anymore, which was why we decided to get another car in the first place, but now having driven the cybertruck we think our ideal set up would be a model X for my wife and the cybertruck for myself and for our road trips. Super glad to be a part of the Tesla family. I’m looking forward to spending tons of time on this forum and with this community, not to mention with this cybertruck!
