I assume there are quit a few forum members that did not order the Foundation Series. This thread is to list your reasons.

This thread is NOT to complain about the Foundation Series CyberTruck.

These were my personal reasons:

1) I do qualify for the POS tax credit and will save $27,500 by getting the Non Foundation Series CyberTruck.

2) I will use the savings for upgrades to my CyberTruck. Colored PPF wrap, rims(which I already purchased and have), all terrain tires of my choice, as well as many other aftermarket upgrades.

3) To have a spare tire. I will keep one of the OEM wheels for a spare and sell the other 3.

4) Give time for the normal quirks to be fixed which is normal with any newly released vehicle.

5) If I did not qualify for the POS tax credit I would have still ended up waiting and get the Non Foundation CyberBeast instead of the Foundation Series AWD CyberTruck.

6) I have been waiting since November 2019 so it has given me the patience to wait a little longer.

7) This is just a bonus: It will be a 2025 model

1: i ordered an awd for a work truck, not a collectors item.

2: sounds like its a good idea to give tesla time to work out the kinks.

All good reasons. No guarantee on pricing remaining the same for non-foundation, depends on inflation, demand/supply still, etc. but surely they want to try to have a version of AWD that falls below the existing tax credit, but no guarantee on tax credits being there for 2025+ either as we'll have potentially an election and presidential change. FSD could jump back up in price again as its went up/down over time - that depends really on how it progress over the next 1 year too I'd say.

Foundation makes the most sense for Ballers, and those that can monetize it.
34% price premium to get it a year early is just not good economics, unless you've reach all your other financial goals.

Inflation hasn't really ebbed. I could see the $80K AWD and $100K Beast both coming in at $90K and $110K respectively for 2025 before prices ebb to the originally planned levels in 2026 as production catches up to pent up demand. I also think the RWD may not see light of day or come in at $69,990 being the only model that would qualify for the tax credit if the tax credit itself exists in 2025, which it may not pending the November election results.

I didnt buy the doundation series, first because of the 31000 price increase. As i orfered the tri. I also added FSd for 4500.so my to t al would be before taxes or tax credit 75000. I fugured that after 5 years i wouls be able to afford. A 5-10 % increase but not 31000. I may not buy at all because every detail on preformaces has not been even close.
