Weights were/are hard to find on any of the electric trucks for a reason me thinks. I went to a Nikola test drive and asked several reps and only one person would answer the question directly. That truck was 29,700 in case you're wondering. I went to an electric Peterbilt event and it was a similar deal but I don't remember that weight. I expect Tesla to come in way lighter.

I just want them to start selling them already. It's been so long since they announced it that ICE truck prices have surpassed the 180k the 500mi. version was going to start at. Obviously the price will be higher, but we need them!

The semi. Just the tractor no trailer. Normal sleeper tractors weigh between 19-23,000. I am curious how much more this one is.

The total weight of the Tesla Semi seems to be about 27,000 plus tires and other parts, which could put it around 30,000 total miles. The Tesla Semi has a total cargo weight of about 44,000 lbs. The typical max load is between 40,000 to 54,000 lbs.Jan 8, 2023

I think they are going to be a good option for some companies. My guess is they are heavier than a diesel one substantially. May be why they are hauling potato chips. If you can only haul 38k legally it will make it a tough sell for the general market.

This was an interesting evaluation. I read the max gross weight will be 82,000 lbs which is an increase from 80,000 for BEV semis. link. Assuming they did max out the 82000 lbs in this test. The load and trailer would have been 51,000 lbs. leaving the semi to be 31,000. I doubt its that much but I would think its safe to say its somewhere between 20,000 and 30,000 lbs.

I am really excited to see how people start converting them to RVs. That is definitely one of my life goals. I would sell everything but my power tools to have one of these beast. Ok maybe half my power tools. I would need to be able to fit them in a mobile shop that I tow behind this.
