I think it will take a marriage of the Cybertruck and the Tesla Semi.
If Tesla would put the battery pack from the smaller Tesla Semi in the Cybertruck, it could long haul a camper like what is pictured above.
Here are my assumptions:
Cybertruck efficiency pulling a large camper: 1700 wh/mile
Battery size: 500 kWh
70% usage on a road trip (charge from 10-80%)
500 kWh / 1700 wh/mile x 70 % = 206 mile range or 2.9 hours
40 minute charge at a mega charger and you are on the road again for another 2.9 hours. Rinse. Repeat.
Of course you could start the day with a full charge and go 294 miles.
Tesla would need to lift the Cybertruck to accommodate the battery. That sounds pretty awesome to me.

Very likely that is a half million or more rolling down the road and costs $1/ mile to drive.

You got me. I can’t afford that. I just want the hardcore truck guys to have a realistic alternative so we can start getting these use cases converted to EV.

I bet the CT only gets about 150 mile range pulling this trailer. It needs to look more like an airstream or we need a camper top on the CT that slopes upward to end at the top of the trailer.

What goes into the sausage grinder doesn’t look the same when it comes out.

This reminds me of when smartphones took off. Everyone criticized the iPhone because it didn’t have physical buttons. The assumption was that the next generation of phone came out, it would be just like the current generation of phone, but better. The reality was completely different.

The auto market is changing. What it looks like in 10 years is unlikely to look like what it looks like today.
