So apparently if you use the accelerator while on FSD it can disengage at a certain speed and then not allow you to use it again until you stop and put it in park.

Anyone know what speed that is?

Pretty sure it is a time limit above 85 measured in seconds. Can breach it here and there, but if you really get it above for any period of time one gets a strike.

Yeah, I think 'Outdoors' is correct... Happened to me once before... I think I was above 85 for about 5-10 seconds (on the I-5)...

WTF?? In Texas we go 85 in the slow lane :ROFLMAO:
Back in the old days we paid our speeding fees with $5 bills. Montana didn't have an enforceable speed limit. Reasonable and prudent on the interstates and state highways was the term. Last period of fun was 1995-99.

Also did have a crap ton of crashes and deaths per person. Still do.

I was 20 min into a 2hr drive yesterday and set the autopilot on at 89 and it disabled for the rest of the trip. So any breach whatsoever seems to trigger it. No strike however.

Interesting I am usually only able to enable at 87 with a setting down to 85. Then it will drift down to that speed. Trying to keep it above will give one a strike. This is the same on all of ours.

Not suggesting getting a strike, but try 85 and accelerate through after enabling. That almost always gives a strike. Usually get it when someone going 80 suddenly speeds up as ya pass them. Total rich move.

If you want to go fast especially on the I 15 just remember to disengage FSD before you hit the juice pedal.

The next time I came to a light I simply put it in park and then drive again and it reset the system. Not sure if I got a strike or not, not sure how to tell.

I am pretty sure you did. While not driving go into autopilot menu and go through the FSD procedure. It would show you how many strikes you have left.

I have never been able to enable that high in speed. Only about 2mph above 85.

Man, I hate that. I'll accelerate to be polite to people behind me and then the right-hand car drifts faster - there was a reason I caught up to them!

If you want to use FSD then you just don't break the law.

It's been this way for a year or so and at one point was lower.

The reason has been stated as that was the speed for which FSD at that time was capable of operating at.

Let's not go down that rabbit hole on the law. We all know the sheep run the world when the bears aren't around.

The reduction from 90 (88.6) to 85 was done around the transition to pure vision. Not debating it. Radar returns have own issues. Glad to have experienced all the iterations. AP1 was fun as well.
