Why and how the Cybertruck may achieve the 500 mile range later this year?

Two words: Solid State, ok three words: Semi Solid State….. toward Solid State.
This will be a game changer and allow for much Longer range and faster Charging…… This is perhaps why Tesla may be deferring the initial large run of CB? Maybe they are precisely trying to make good on claims of 500 miles………. We know Elon has been working on the DEB Dry layer cell. Movement toward using a new electrolyte medium. If the newly developed Solid state electrolyte is perfected, alterations to the technique of manufacturing will already be in place. This may provide an appreciable increase in range or at the very least faster charge to maximize use in of the higher kW chargers…….. that just may give the CB the range as originally estimated…………. Worth Contemplating. Just information for encouragement and positive trajectory waiting. Cheers.

No.

The only factor is a Beast-specific driveline parts bottleneck.

And meanwhile, the Beast and AWD have and will remain having identical packs.
You must be an employee or executive for Tesla. Any hint at what type of component?
Drive line meaning motor?

Question on semantics, does your definition of drive line parts include the battery pack and its component parts?

no

I guess strictly speaking the battery (and on-board charger) are considered part of the driveline in the same way the gas tank on an ICE vehicle is.

but I speak here of driveline in sense exclusive of gas tank

I’m not used to clarifying that, because the Beast is identical to the AWD - including on-board charger and pack - other than the motors and inverters and ancillary components.

It’s within those differentiations that the Beast supply chain bottleneck exists.

Battery technologies take about 10 years from concept to production in high enough numbers. And I believe that less than 1% actually make it into full scale production.

If it isn't in small scale production TODAY, don't expect it in full scale production for another year or two or never.

Not making any comments on this particular battery, just rough industry numbers and reality.

The reason why they are deferring the CyberBeast is much easier, they are ramping production. Having only one trim going through the line makes optimization much easier.

not to mention:

(1) they previewed a 2025 single motor, and bet your sss they would’ve also previewed a ‘Long Range’ version coming if they intended one

and

(2) folks are forgetting that since 2019 Tesla has taken a philosophical turn RE range

The cybertruck will hit 500 miles of range when Telsa puts a 200kwh battery pack in it like the Chevy Silverado has
