Is Elon Musk Fighting The CCP Over Starlink or Over Tesla Competition with BYD?
Rumor has it that the CCP is in discussions with Tesla, and that Tesla's expansion plan in China is on hold pending the outcome of those discussions. They are purported to involve Elon Musk's ownership of SpaceX and the Starlink division. China might be nervous about capabilities of Starlink, and may be looking for assurances from Elon Musk in that regard. Or is that just a smokescreen.

Where there's smoke there's fire ?

30 year ago that made sense, but these days BS prevails. Who knows ?

If anything, I'm guessing if there's too much information and no direct source, it's false.

1) loan negotiations?
2) land purchase negotiations?
3) supply negotiations?

the usual stuff I'll bet.

They've already banned Teslas from driving in military areas and suburbs because of the always on cameras. Technically all existing Teslas with 4G connection will be able to connect with v2 Starlink satellites without any upgrades. So technically yes it could be a real security issue soon. But I don't know how they can stop it from happening. Splitting off a "Chesla" brand that only supplies internal demand could put Tesla in dire straights.
