Why is Tesla still offering the "limited edition" Foundation Series? Production was announced to end "soon" in June 2024

I'm confused as to why Tesla is still offering Foundation Series trucks. It was my understanding that FS was supposed to be a limited run. That was one of the incentives behind spending a full $20k more -- you get to be one of the lucky first adopters of a version that would have a limited supply.

Bearded Tesla Guy is fake news that's why. Tesla never said it was ending soon.

Why not? If someone still wants to buy one.

The bundle of options isn't that bad of a deal.

Elon Musk did.
In case you haven't realized it, Elon's concept of time is slightly different than most other people.

"This weekend" often translates into "a couple of months"

Elon is often one of the last to know the details. He has people who worry about the details.

It's ok to be wrong sometimes. It's ok.

That he may be, but Elon did say it would end 'soon' in the Q2 investor questions.

We all know Elon is horrible at time estimation, soon for him could be 2 years.

They will produce them until they run out of the special parts, or the end of the year.

Which is what they announced last year.

They’ve actually flip flopped on this a few different times including recently updating two parts of their website which had been changed to limited edition run for FS to “all first year models are FS” and now to basically until they run out of their inventory. It’s kind of funny, but not surprising… it also doesn’t bother me at all but I don’t want to give them credit for changing their tune on this “limited edition” run when it really wasn’t. It’s really just akin to special edition Jeep Wranglers.. nothing actually special.. but at least Jeep is open and honest about it.

Well, it's a sales estimation. They can't know exactly when they run out - and worse, you wouldn't want to tell your customers; they might dither instead of acting now.
