By any chance, has anyone that has a Tesla keyfob and a Cybertruck tried to pair them? Just curious if it will work....

I know from my other cars that a fob can't be paired with more than one car simultaneously, so it'll have to be a spare fob to work without impacting your other car...

Our Tesla MY fobs pair with both of our 2020 MYLR’s.

IOW, both fobs work with both MY’s, just like the key cards and phone keys.

Fun fact about the Tesla key fobs…they also act as key cards.

So, if the battery dies (or the fob goes dead after an ocean swim, as me how I know, haha!!) it will work by placing it on the B-pillar and the center console, no problem.

Are you sure? The Tesla owner's manual says one vehicle at a time with one fob. Maybe you had the fob in your hand or pocket, but it was really your phone that unlocked the other car?

Positive.

They’re both listed under the “Locks” section of both cars, along with all four key cards (two from each car), and the two phone keys.

I just checked. No phone key in my pocket, one fob with me (other fob far away).

Walked up to both, they both opened and shifted into drive.

But the big question will be tomorrow, haha!! I take delivery of my FS AWD and will report back (once I come down from the high, haha!!)

Ok, I believe you. That's not been my experience, but seems like it works that way for you...Please let me know about the Cybertruck and the fob tomorrow. I have a spare Model X refresh key fob that I'll be trying with it...

I tried a Y fob with the cybertruck. Didn't work for me.
So the Cybertruck screen has the same card key/fob programming screen as the other cars like the Model 3 have?

No it did not show a programming screen for the fob. It only lists phone and key card. I made sure my y fob wasn't linked anymore to my Y. I kept the fob in case the cybertruck gets the ability to do it.

Honest question from a Tesla owner for many years: Why do you carry a fob?

I always assume it's due to situations where you simply won't have your phone on you, but I'm genuinely curious. I've not carried keys in many years now.

I carry a fob for my MS because my iPhone 14 and 15 both were/are unreliable for unlocking the car. I add the issue to look at any time it's in service and there's never a fix. I've tried everything I could find written on the subject, and just live with carrying the fob. Service tells me they hear this all the time, and frequently it's more about understanding how the car reacts to your phone key, than it not working. IE, should you walk by but not get in, it will assume you don't want in so it stop unlocking. But even so, it's unreliable for me.

I'd use one with the truck if I could unlock the door with it. Here in Texas, I have already singed my thumb pressing on the very hot surface. And it's not even really hot yet.

There was a few years back a day where tesla app went down and phone key wouldn't work so of you didn't have a fob or key card you couldn't drive your car. Can't afford to have that happen in my line of work.
