Lots of questions here that are way above my ability to speak in French. I can order/serve food and that's about it.

Can someone else take a crack at it? Google Translate handled it pretty well, but I never know they other way around.

Bienvenu, mon ami Columbo

As far as I understand it, in 2010, the European Union introduced new auto safety standards designed to reduce pedestrian fatalities and injuries. To reduce the risk of head trauma, the EU rules mandate features to reduce the severity of impact in the event a driver strikes someone outside the car.

With the stainless steel construction we have seen in videos, I don't see anyway the CT makes it to France or any other EU country.

Is this a problem only with the front of the Cybertruck? Or does the EU have rules about how soft the truck sides must be for when pedestrian/cyclist walks/runs/rides into the side of truck too?

The rules do not preclude the metal the Cybertruck is made from; it would be whether the truck could perform the tests the same as other trucks.

But sometimes there's opinion involved, such as the 'complaints' that Autopilot is mis-named, since it has more capability than any autopilot system ever put into use. And apparently people think it's more capable than it is advertised?

If an Escalade can pass, the Cybertruck probably can.

I could well be wrong but my memory says the EU wanted some sort of crumple zone on the front of vehicles combined with a specific angle limit on the hood (for pedestrians safety). You ain't getting a pedestrian crumple zone with that stainless steel.

However, when I was there, it was hard to keep up with the constant flow of Health and Safety laws that were suggested and enacted. IE I could be wrong

This is true.

...But that's not true. Pedestrian crumple zones are usually springs or air cushions. The outer nose could be supported that way; it's just a crumple zone, after all. Some have suggested the airbag impact systems as well, that would also work.

However, when I was there, it was hard to keep up with the constant flow of Health and Safety laws that were suggested and enacted. IE I could be wrong
This is also true! I've pointed out that the absolute rules that were supposed to come out last year... didn't. Which means we really don't know what the rules will be next year.

PS, I even just got an advertisement for that Jeep that go approved in the EU last year and scored at the bottom of all the pedestrian safety categories. And it has a basically flat nose with no pedestrian safety thought I can see.

There are definitely service centers in France. https://www.google.com/search?q=tesla+service+center+france

I do not know French truck rules. Their farms seem to be pretty random with regards to equipment. I wonder if each province handles them differently?

-Crissa
I had no idea about Tesla France, so checked. Looks like there's a dozen service centers and a dozen more chargers -- just about all over France.
