When I got my 2019 M3P, Tesla charged an extra $300 to have a mobile tech install the HomeLink system. In my previous MS, it was included. The system has worked very well. I see no evidence that the system is available for the Cybertruck. There is apparently, support for the MyQ system that should work fine for a home garage door. If you also need to open a security gate for say a residential community, MyQ won't work so you get to carry around the handheld remote.

Having HomeLink available as an option on the Cybertruck would be a great advantage. Has anyone received information that his will happen?

Got a new CT FS delivered on July-05-2024. I feel disappointed that the $20K FS package doesn’t have Homelink hardware included or preinstalled (in contrast to most of luxury cars above $100K have Homelink hardware included).

worse yet, it seems Tesla has no plans to ever make CT compatible with Hamelink. I’ve complained about this for months.

My M3 came with it and had seamless entry to the community and garages. Using iPhone is combusome to say the least...particularly when you are looking for the icon and finding the right button to press.

Yet one bought it, and signed the paperwork. Does one not look at options and features before buying a car or truck?

The whole luxury thing at 100k is getting old. Welcome. Great first post.

Ah relax, I can see most people assuming homrlink is included. That and Tesla doesn't do well at a detailed specs page and even sticker compared to other makers that are much more detailed.

Agree, does suck but kinda knew it. Switched my garage door to myQ here to use but then had to remove from our alarm system. Have to pull out my old clicker to get in community gate. Have tried some macro android software for Android and the gate app we use but kinda stinks.

Oh well, worth it for now.

I knew it wasn't included, it wasn't included with the Model Y I just bought either. I happily purchased it for the Y and I'd do the same thing for the CT if it was available. I seriously hope they add it. MyQ isn't bad, but pulling into and out of my garage/driveway is usually the exact time my CT (and the Model Y) is transitioning from WiFi to Cellular or inverse and MyQ is either seriously delayed or outright fails opening/closing the door. Even at $350, Homelink is a better value (for me) than MyQ. I wonder if the wiring exists in the frunk area for Homelink.

I'm annoyed about the homelink situation as well. MyQ sucks, I'm not paying a subscription fee to have much worse functionality: internet connectivity required for both the garage door and your car, account setup required, MyQ's servers have to be up, etc. Homelink requires none of those.

I set up a OpenGarage on my "dumb" garage opener, then hooked it up to my home's Home Assistant, and then bridged it to Apple HomeKit. The resilience is still better than MyQ (doesn't require internet connectivity, just local wifi). But I do have to take out my iPhone and click a button. It's a widget on the home screen so it's easy to find and doesn't require opening an app.

Meanwhile, on my wife's Model Y, I just press the homelink button on the car screen.

I understand why Tesla did it. One less physical piece of hardware. MyQ can be implemented in software. At least open it up in some way so that we can hook it up to our own automation.

Tesla Cybertruck Will HomeLink be available for the Cybertruck? IMG_1377

Yesterday (July 09, 2024), there was internet outage in my area (Round Rock, TX). This photo recapped from my CyberTruck screen; the garage door is “Offline” and MyQ cannot close the garage door. In contrast, Homelink can always close and open door as long as the opener has electric power.

I'd imagine it will be available if they develop a 48v converter/option, but I don't see Tesla doing that themselves and don't see Homrlink doing it for just the CT. I'd also imagine Chamberlain/myQ pushes yo not have it somehow for the reoccurring revenue especially as most houses have Wi-Fi and new garage doors they dominate around.
