Does anyone know if the stainless steel the cybertruck will use will work with magnets?
I'm planning on living out of my cybertruck a decent amount (While traveling cross country) and it would be great to have an awning that I can just have 1 side magnetically attached to the vault rails or the roof edges.

Tesla is using a unique formulation of stainless steel, but the DeLorean skin is not at all magnetic.

Since the CT body is mostly flat, you could always use suction cups.

If it's decent stainless, no.

The stainless steels of 400 series are magnetic, but a bit less magnetic than regular black steel.
The stainless steel 300 series is not magnetic or slightly magnetic when hardened.
The reason for that is that 400 series have about 13-20% of chromium and very little of nickel. The 300 series have the same amount of chromium and 7-13% of nickel (plus molybdenum, titanium and other components in quantities less than 1-2%).
So nickel makes difference

Thanks for the input. I guess if it's not magnetic then suction cups should work ok.

Have you considered latching the awning on to the L-track. Once production begins, many suggestions will abound if you have not found the ideal solution for your use.
