I have been having this exact issue, and personally, if enough of us get behind this issue, we can force Tesla to come up with a solution or permanent fix. A wiper should not be an issue for the money we all spent on this vehicle. Also, please don't get me going on not having a rear camera washer.

Wondering if anyone else out there has this issue where a good 30% of the windshield is left unwashed after using the spray function on the wipers.

It‘s been challenging to take a video/picture of but today was finally the day!

It‘s a slow motion video and hopefully you can see the grime that is left on the windshield covering mostly the right side of the windshield.

Anyone else run into this streaky situation? Any fixes?

I have had the same experience whenever they salt on the road. The windshield wiper does not make enough contact or spray enough windshield washer fluid to clean the entire windshield. Including in front of the FSD camera.

It's a problem in winter conditions when the roads are messy. I agree that more fluid needs to be sprayed as I have clean streaks left, rather than minor dirty streaks.

Bigger jets seems to be likely because I don't think the pump can do more than it already does.

I'd like it to be a firmware fix, but I'm not convinced it will be possible.

Before the recall it appeared to spray a lot more fluid.

I took delivery in March of 24, and for a while the sprayers were known for spraying way too much! There were a bunch of people complaining (on this very forum, IIRC), and then a software update came out that changed how much and the timing... I would agree that they backed off too much. I wish it was an option in the settings... Knowing Elon he could put his 12 year old gutter mind on it. "How wet do you want it?"

This seems to be a common problem. I asked my mobile service

. I asked my Tesla mobile service guy about it and he said he’d do some research when he returns to fix a piece on my front bumper. Not enough spray and not enough pressure on the top of the blade to clean the window.I’ve tried cleaning and it doesn’t help, windows always look worse after using the wiper. Inside and outside windows are the hardest thing to keep clean on the CB. Love my truck

My windsheild was shattered in Hurricane Helene when it dropped a tree on it. Winshield completely replaced, along with new wiper control arm and blade. I got the truck back 11-29-2024 and ordered a new wiper blade from Tesla on December 10. See photos below of the before and after blades, both of which were new.

Same new wiper blade, but pulled the wiper to me to shift the blade on windsheild glass as though it was on the upswing (see reflection of trees on the glass):

I didn't take a video, but the newest blade had a much better washer spray than the older blade (the one that came with the whole new wiper assembly). But it only spray on the upswing, nothing on the downswing.

The wiper metal assembly asserts downward pressure on the blade from an arch design, and for some reason the blade does not apply equal touching on the glass from that central arch-pressure. Perhaps it is due to inconsistency in the manufacturing of the rubber blade? or somehow the result is a material difference in how these two blades leave a gap in how they touch the glass. I happened to get the sunlight exactly opposite the blade so it shows the light coming through. Maybe others can check blade gap and see if there are consistencies.

Noone seemed to suggest this temporary workaround? I tend to try to wash/squirt the windshield when the truck is at a very slow speed; less juice gets wasted and more ends up on the windshield.

I also would love the option to have it squirt on the downward thrust as well as the upward thrust!

I'm a new owner so not fully up to speed on the history. I know about the wiper motor recall. That was a physical recall. What you're talking about was completely in software? No changes to the jetting? Assuming the answer is 'yes', that's quite impressive. I wouldn't have expected they could have that much control over the pump to make significant adjustments to the flow volume!

Yes, software only. Originally it would spray so much fluid that you couldn't even clean it off the window with the wiper, and it would leave a giant streak down the side and top of the truck.

Yes, I have the same issue. The drivers side gets decently clean and towards the top corner of the passenger side, but an area more towards the middle of the windshield gets smeared by salt. It seemed to me an issue with a lack of both downforce and spray volume, and/or the fact that the spray nozzles concentrate the fluid into a stream instead of wider fan pattern.
