So what’s going on here? Is it bowed?

No it was just press fit into place and not fully stuck down in that Pic. Pic was also taken with wide angle lens just look at the distorted model 3 next to it. I've had these pieces for a few months now and they fit and look great, very satisfied.

Someone help me out here - the point of using carbon fiber parts on a car, bicycle, etc. is reduced weight - 'real' carbon fiber is used in place of steel, aluminum or composites.

Almost all of the 'carbon fiber' add-ons for the CT are just that - real or faux carbon finer glued on top of existing parts, simply to change the look - but in the end it is a fake look - the real underlying parts AREN'T actual carbon fiber. These things don;t reduce weight - they ADD weight in every case - so what's the point?

A facade, a false look? Seems both a waste of money and a reduction in value, added complexity and weight, so with enough of this stuff, reduced range. Maybe folks just gotta customize? Convincing themselves that somehow their vehicle is uniquely "them"?

I dont disagree these are not performance or replacement parts they are cosmetic. I got them because they fit the motif of what I am trying to achieve with the Halo look. I never once thought I was making my truck faster or lighter weight purely done for looks/style which in my book is fine if that's what you like or want for a look you are going for.

An argument could be made that these covers preserve the oem trim. Kinda like seat covers.
