Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT3 Studded Winter Tires Installed

I live in north Idaho deep in the woods where the backroads often turn to sheets of ice. We got one light dusting last week that's melted already but that was enough to get me to the tire shop to get these Hakkapeliitta's studded and installed.

I scoured this forum and the manual for ages to figure out how to switch the tires in the CT software. I was unable to find anything. There's no "tire and wheel" settings. I'd imagine the range will adjust but I mainly wanted to adjust the tire pressure on the computer because it's stuck at 50. Anyone have thoughts on this?

Excited to see what the Beast is capable of this winter in intense storms. Electric chainsaw, Tuffy snow shovel, flashlight, straps and other goodies already in the vault. Shoutout to @HaulingAss for convincing me to de-wrap my Beast that was chrome until a few days ago. Having to baby a wrap didn't feel right in this environment. It also felt fake. Go stainless!

Very nice! How does it ride? Also curious how much you notice the difference with studs versus non-studs. I will probably go with a similar tire Hakka non-studded or Blizzak. I’ve had the non-studded Hakkas before and have had great experience with them.

You also may be the first de-wrap I’ve seen. Couldn’t agree more, stainless for the win.
What size did you order? Same size as stock?

side note. very interesting to hear all the reports of how the CT does when the temps get to -5. I drive a lot in the winter and believe with this big cell battery it should do just fine.

Congrats looks great!

The Cybertruck is going to do great in slippery conditions. I've never run Hakkapelitta's but I can only imagine it will be a winter monster!

It will have considerable range loss, particularly on short trips. On long trips, where range tends to matter most, range loss can be surprisingly little if you start from a warmer garage, pre-heat the cabin and rely more on cranking the seat heaters than heating the cabin to toasty temperatures.

Those Hakka's will make the CT a monster in the snow. Had the non-studded version on my ex-wife's SQ5 and it was unstoppable in the deep snow and also on ice, even without the studs. Wasn't bad on dry roads either, which was always the challenge with Blizzaks - on dry roads in warmer weather they felt like they were greasy as hell and your stopping distances were like twice what they would be on summer tires. The Hakka's were fine when it warmed up and cornered pretty nicely too - they just wore out quickly if you ran them too deep into the spring. Once the temps are regularly over 40 you want to put them away so they last a few years.

-5 F is tricky. You’ll either be pumping energy into the battery or the space to keep it warm or you’ll use energy when you get going to warm it up. Probably a good practice to just keep it plugged in on a low amperage setting to keep the battery temp higher if you’re driving everyday and park inside.

Please show us your range numbers for the stickier tires, and if there's any difference in odometer vs gps speed!

We've just had mostly rain here in north Idaho off and on and they're doing great on my muddy backroads. On dry pavement you can definitely hear it in the cabin when you're going slow but I don't mind it. Last winter I almost slid a Rivian R1T straight off of a cliff going downhill without studs so I learned my lesson.

The size isn’t quite stock. Stock is 285/65 R20 but you can fit 275/65 R20 without too many problems. If they don’t come out with these in stock, I’ll be running these as my winter tires in the future after i get my truck, although where i live i’d probably go studless and keep chains just in case.
