That's interesting, as a local high volume home builder here uses his Raptor as a work truck, and my local handyman is getting a CT for his worktruck... he does all sorts of home and commercial building renovations.
Cool. I've just never really seen that in my area. I mean I've seen the foreman and the GCs driving around in Raptors before but I don't ever recall seeing peeps use them as actual "pile shit in the back" or "tow shit around" type work trucks.

Anyway, to each their own! I would love to see some CT's piled up with legit work construction type materials soon!

Who made this clear? Where was it written? And by what means will it be prevented?
There were some interviews where it was clear it’s backup only.

Also the PowerShare website only lists backup as a feature. https://www.tesla.com/powershare

sure it’s a sw feature they could unlock time shifting and they might, but then it puts a lot of cycles on the battery. Pretty clear they want to avoid this use case.

So at some point you’ll want a couple power walls to do the time shift function as well as power the house while you drive to a functioning SC to recharge your house during an outage.

Cold feet here too. 100% based on the poor range reports. I am expecting delivery in a month and would loose $1000 if i cancel, but i figure save $9000 to wait.

Our service advisor has told me our Cybertruck is in Cali and should be ready for deliver anyday.

Anyone else getting cold feet on accepting delivery? Reviews seem to be mixed. I keep going back and forth.

Ive wanted this car since it was announced but what’s another year at this point right?

anyone else feeling the same?
Yep, feeling the same. When I placed the FS order, I was not presented with the option to wait for the non FS version. I thought that this was my only option. Entirely my bad, as I could have called Tesla (even though I think they should have stated that). My dilemma is the following:
- You are paying for FSD, but not getting it (wonder what the legalities are, frankly). If it is "capable", but it is not working, it implies it is not capable.
- Something stupid, but this $100K truck does not have a universal garage door opener? I have MyQ, but does that work from the CT's screen? (maybe someone can answer that)
- I am very interested in Home Backup and filled out the questionnaires (received 2 so far). It was actually one of the decision makers to move ahead with the FS. If for some reason I won't qualify, I would be out the value of the hardware. Makes the FS significantly less attractive. I never use super charging in our Model Y, so free super charging would do absolutely nothing.
- I do suspect that selling the CT after about a year, will recover close to the $100K due to the scarcity of the vehicle. Assuming FSD will be transferred (I didn't see anywhere in the contract that it won't be, and it comes with the FS package that I will be paying for).
- Very concerned about insurance cost. The Tesla app requires a VIN before I can provide a quote.

So, yes, I have my doubts too. If I were able to revert back and keep my place in line, I would.

The range just isn't needed. I made a 2500-mile trip in December with only 280-mile range. I've been from the bottom of Florida to the Great Lakes and from the Atlantis to beyond the Mississippi. I've pulled a boat from Atlanta to Tampa.

Have I come in nearly empty? Yep, mostly because I skipped a number of chargers on purpose.

Sounds like people getting computers "I'll wait for the next one" There's always a next one. If you want to enjoy the EV life, you got to jump in somewhere. I'm a two Tesla family with no ICE vehicles. NEVER regretted it. And we travel a LOT. Multiple trips a year, most at the last minute.
Do you have a CT now? If what I hear is true, the CT will be 250. Is that usable, or is it taking the battery from empty to full, which is bad for the battery? I have a 2017 S, bought brand new, my real range on my S is 200 usable miles as normal, I travel and go places that I know will not have the chargers that will be needed ( I use my ram 2500 ), If you camp, which I believe people will do, you can end up in places that do not have water or electric. I am looking into a generator just in case, but the 500 miles would be great.

So totally wrong!!!!

Tesla is not forcing. If you don't want it, just don't place an order. You will be able to order later and pick only the options that you want.
Have you never bought a car before? Has the car that you wanted not had a package on it with something that you didn't want? Have you not had to get an expensive package because you wanted something like an upgraded sound system?

They are contractually restricting resale on the behalf of 99+% of their users. They don't want this to become a scalpers market. They don't want someone with a lot of money taking one away from someone who really wants it.
They don't want the secondary market. Just like other manufacturers don't. Tesla wants to support their fans, not the scalpers.

I'm pretty sure that the OP got a VIN, not delivery.

And in that non-resale clause, which of course you didn't read. Tesla has said that they will buy the truck back at essentially what you paid for it, if they refuse to allow you to resale. And they also give you a chance to plead your case. I'm sure that "I really don't like it" along with a "I'm selling it for the price I paid for it" would probably allow the sale. (but of course they will look for side payments)

Okay, yall got to stop the BS.

YOU ARE BUYING FSD. FSD is not here today. I bought FSD 6 years ago, I still haven't gotten FSD. What they are currently offering is access to the FSD Beta software, which is totally awesome. The Beta has to be updated to work with the Cybertruck, should be here soon, maybe around March.

MyQ WILL WORK, there are tens of thousands of users using it today.

10s of thousands of users of MyQ in the CT? How does it work: I can open my garage doors using an app on Phone from anywhere. Does it work the same in the Tesla? Pardon my ignorance, I just don't know. Our MY has the extra module installed.

Let's agree to disagree on the FSD....

Wealthy people do not buy unnecessary toys for emotional clicks. I have a small fleet of vehicles and they all have a purpose. Why are some of you that are techies buying a pickup truck ?

Spend the $120k on your family ...your future.

But Elon does appreciate the donation
Because techies can do home renovations and go camping or help friends move, etc.

I am. I don't have a VIN yet but the more I learn about Cybertruck, the more it seems like a lemon. FS value just doesn't add up to me. It was basically just a way for Tesla to force early adopters like us to pony up for FSD which I would not have done. And explain what the other $8000 is paying for. White plastic inside? The badge etched in it which I don't even like? All this for an unfinished product (no FSD or even autopilot) that they are working out the production kinks. We are literally buying the worst version of Cybertruck for the maximum price. I regret the moment of FOMO when I got the email and blew $1k that I can't get back.
Lemon ? Don't listen to the FUD.

The range on the Cybertruck is going to be very close to that of the Model 3 and Model Y. And yes, I have both of those. It will be more than your Model S. But you know what you get in relationship to what the EPA numbers are.

If you are going into those areas in which campgrounds don't have power, then you are probably going slower and you are quite aware that your range increases in those situations.

When I'm on the road, I charge to only 50-70% charging above that takes too long. And you may not realize it, but charging only from 5-50% on long trips is a lot faster than charging to higher numbers.

No I don't have a Cybertruck yet, any day now. But I have been following the numbers and the FUD since introduction. While the early numbers were folks not knowing what the heck they were doing, the latest number are coming in alignment with my expectations, even the towing numbers.

I thought this through as well and even though I love the novelty of it and I love the Tesla software and charging network I decided to pass on the CT. My son really wants me to get it but my wife said she would never ride in it and didn’t want it parked in our driveway, lol. I think she is going to get the Rivian.

I actually bought my 2022 Model S so I could sell it when my Cybertruck order came up. Well now my $95k Model S is worth about $65k thanks to the price drop. And I locked it in before the big price hike. Some lost even more. So I have to keep the S which isn’t a bad thing because I like it. But I still need a truck/suv.

Finally, I went in like and configured a $110k Range Rover, put it next to the Cybertruck and asked myself which would I rather have. Haha well my son and I both said the Range Rover.

I’ll just wait and see how this all plays out over the next year or so. Maybe they will cancel my reservation and refund my $100 but I think I will still be able to order another one down the line if I change my mind.
Did the Range Rover have any Self-Driving features? Remember that the Foundation Series does, as well as PowerShare.
So a $110k Range Rover should probably be compared closer to the RWD $60k Cybertruck. They both only have a single motor.
