Tesla is not a normal car company and that's why they built this vehicle. Anything is possible I think. Of course a future version will be cheaper and better. But that could be multiple years.

+1 to what others said. If $$ is not a constraint, then it makes sense to pull the trigger. Financial constraint is the primary reason many folks are holding back.

As folks are still getting FS invites, my speculation is that Tesla will eventually send FS invites to pretty much all reservation holders to make it fair. Then they might switch to non FS Beast, and then regular AWD. This might take a year, two, honestly even Tesla might know as nobody knows how many reservation holders will go through FS order once they get it, just like you.
This, plus we don't know if in 1 year it goes up to 82k, 85k, etc plus 12.5 for FSD (if you want it) then you're looking at 97.5 and 1-2 years extra wait. If you're a Tesla owner then you know the only certain thing about Tesla is uncertainty. That's why I ordered FS, because they gave me certainty that I'll get my beast this year........ Maybe. LOL

I know! I started a new thread to poll people’s opinion on price going up/down post FS. Please vote there. I ordered FS Beast but asked them to put a hold for couple of months. I might just go ahead with FS. As you said, a bird in hand is worth two in the bush; however, this beast birdie just doesn’t tell you when it’s going to come! Ugh!! :p

The OP is about 145,000 on the reservation list. It is very clear to me Tesla will send an email offer to config their FSCT to all 2m on the reservation list. Eventually, Mr. 2,000,000 will be able to move up the list by spending a little extra now. Someone said Tesla wants to make 250k CT/year. Mr. 2,000,000 could have to wait 8 years to order his normal CT. Yes, in 8 years the price will be significantly different than it is today. From this perspective, there will be even more incentive for Mr. 2,000,000 to order a FSCT now rather than wait. Tesla has a rigged slot machine to make money. The feeding frenzy to order will continue until they run out of rich guys. Oh, Tesla had $200,000,000 from the $100 deposits for several years. Can they turn that into $2.2B with $1,000 deposits? This whole Cybertruck story is Un-Effing-Believable! $2B=$2,000,000,000

Also RN1288 and got my invite yesterday, pulled the trigger! Said late 24 delivery so guessing you have a minute to organize financials (post config they ask about trade in, cash/finance/lease and ask you to do a credit app if finance) The price will drop at some point, either post founders series or inevitable at some point in the future. - 4 years wait was long enough for me. I can pay cash but I told myself regardless it's not a good financial move and I'm at peace with that . Already dropped $1k on Tesla accessories. Bring it on!

I'll throw my mental gymnastics in here.

For me, I know that I locked in FSD at $7k, I know that I dont need a white upgrade nor all terrain tires. I know that the wall charger with powershare, while nice, isnt that much better then just getting a generator plug to use the outlet on. Especially because I wouldnt be getting the beast and would have to pay for installation. I know 90% of the accessories that come with FS will be available by random companies like hansshow or unplugged, so I could save getting them there. (if i even wanted to get them). The only real stand out value of FS to me is getting it early. And dont get me wrong i REALLY want to get it early. but in my situation, not only would I be paying 20k extra to get less range and a bunch of overpriced extras that I likely wouldnt have bought otherwise. I would also be losing the $7500 federal and the $5000 CO credits. Those things alone would offset the FSD package if I did end up having to pay the full 12k (which I really hope doesnt happen... stick to my 7k tesla)

So at the end of the day, I am really paying $32500 + extra sales taxes more the 20k And more monthly accrued interest on my loan.

If I was in a YOLO place in my life, honestly, I would probably still do it. But I'm not. Got two kiddos that are pre-school age. That level of financial commitment just to get my toy early feels irresponsible. So ofc i did the only reasonable thing and sold my almost paid of MYP and get an old MX that cost more :ROFLMAO: .

It should satisfy my truck feening for now.

What was the question?Oh yea, I think, if you have the $$ to blow and are in a place where you can YOLO, then you should seriously consider doing it. But if getting this truck might impact your way of living negatively at all. Join us on the FS skipper threadlol

I agree! I play devil’s advocate to console myself. Mr 2,000,000 might be reading this right now and saying the game is fair and square for him as everyone is given an option to pick FS. Mr 2000 had his chance and passed on the opportunity. So it seems fair for Mr 2,000,000 to grab it. It would be unfair if people skipped the line, but this is not about skipping the line. Everyone is given a choice to pay 20K premium price to get CT now, and that choice is given chronologically. The last person is offered only when everyone else has rejected the offer.

All this convincing still F*** pisses me off that there is premium to pay to get CT now. Just give us MSRP + 7K locked in price for FSD. No, Tesla had to come up with this genius FS strategy to milk more money! God I hate it. I just read back my script and calm down until I read a response like yours. I hear you my friend! The world is unfair.

I hear you, man. I was at 100,000 so i didn't even pay any attention to the FS, i didn't expect my CT would come before middle of 2025. But one more year wait is still ok for me, thinking there are still 2 millions more behind me.

Then i got the invite. Then i realized this FS game will continue till some predefined time or to the last person on the list.

So you can take the bait or sit tight to see people one by one skip you.

EVERY fucking day!

I know my mental won't be that strong to withstand such test day after day for who knows how long.

Then i know i don't have other choice if i still want it.

Thanks for that! :-(

I don't qualify for the $7500 regardless but am missing out on the CO $5k, didn't realize that had a Car Cost limit, just knew there was no Income Limit! Doesn't change my decision but a small piece of me died on this comment! :)

This just made me realize that mostly the wealthy are going to benefit from FS, the middle class is getting screwed. If someone doesn't qualify for the tax credit, there's little reason to wait for FS to end. If someone qualifies for the tax credit, getting it is likely the only way to buy the truck and be somewhat fiscally responsible.

This is exactly the reason Tesla should not try offering FS all the way down to 2M reservation holder. It affects brand loyalty and angers customers.

Those who point to Eco 101 should take a class in marketing 101.

PS: Besides they are wrong about making money on FS, Tesla is losing a lot of money on FS. They have to ramp up fast to make positive GM.

As weeks past I'm more convinced today 2/29/2024 that any of us with regular early reservation numbers will not get a single truck delivery until late 2026 probably 2027. Tesla will continue building FS or Beast ONLY until they can't sell them anymore. The "Limited to 1000 units" advertising is legitimate insulting

How much are you willing to bet ? I rarely bet - but I'll start with $20k.
