At twice the original price, I have to question how bad I still want it. Should I wait until the Foundation Series are exhausted and see what a “normal” CT would be? It would certainly be an easier decision if I could sell it should I decide it is not worth it to me.
Thoughts?

So many factors to determine if you should go for it. YES it is far more than originally anticipated, but between INFLATION, cost of borrowing, etc it is tough.

Obviously, if you can afford the additional price without affecting your retirement or lifestyle GO FOR IT.

You will never get a chance to own a truly ground-breaking vehicle as an early adopter ever again.

.... and unlike other ultra desired vehicles like Ferrari, you dont have to have generational wealth to be in the line for one....

Tempus Fugit. Time flies. And Time is Money. (not sure the Romans ever said that, in four years of Latin courses I didn't hear of it anyway ;)). While others were busy adding up the dollars and pennies to ascertain if the Foundation Series accessories, powershare equipment, FSD, interior, laser-etched badges, etc, represented exactly $20k worth of "added value," I clicked my mouse, saved that time, and hopefully several months to a year as well. Would I prefer a standard CT for $80k? Yes. Would I prefer it (having to guess here which is another point) 8-18 months from now? No. But that's me (and a few others here). Some people prefer to save the $20k and wait. I totally get it. For them, (by definition in this case at least), Time has a lower value. That's fair. They might be younger, they might have different financial priorities. I only have a problem when some of those folks pontificate that their decision is the only rational decision while ignoring the many different frameworks, risk tolerances, and economic/health circumstances within which we all live. As the Talosians said to Captain Christopher Pike, "She has an illusion and you have reality. May you find your way as pleasant." :alien:

Also what are the first 4 #s of your RN so we have an idea where you are on the list, along with location in the US (State)

Good points from both of you. I have a lot to consider, did I mention I am married. Im sure she would get over it, she knows how long Ive waited, and it would have no impact what so ever on our household income.

I just got mine a week ago. It is a fun toy. You just need to be comfortable in buying something that will be worth alot less at some point just like any higher end tesla (x , s plad etc).

I'm wondering if, at least for a couple of years, if the CT will hold its value due to the insane demand. You might be surprised what a 1-2 year old CT will fetch on the used market! :)

My son is already angling on the depreciation amount, and trying to get me to agree to price 2 years from now. Yeah he wants a deal. Maybe I should write a no flipping clause into the sale.

Finances vs. time.

Which one is most important to you?

My finances are more important to me than time. It has been over 4 years and and 3 months since my initial reservation. I will continue to be patient as I am really wanting the $61k RWD version.
