Has anyone received a VIN without finishing tasks?

After reading other posts that the status of completing "finance" and/or "trade-in" tasks didn't effect VIN assignment, I left these tasks pending/incomplete for 2 months (only completed the primary registrant section).

Wanted to see if anyone actually got a VIN without completing these tasks. Perhaps I'm pushing myself to the back of the VIN list for not doing so.

I did not accept or reject the finance offer or insurance from Tesla and got a VIN.

So you had unchecked/incomplete tasks and still got a VIN?

My order/app continues to state something along the lines of "complete tasks to avoid delay in delivery" which in contrast to "We'll notify you when... pre-delivery tasks".

I completed all my tasks including final payment back in December… no VIN yet. SoCal Beast order

I have asked this same question a few times to other members. The response was always the same. No need to complete “tasks” to receive VIN. I still have my finance portion pending.

I read prior posts stating the same. But you gotta wonder if it was misinformation (esp. with folks getting VINs in no particular order).

Just curious if we had atleast a sample size of 1 that got a VIN despite the unfinished tasks and "complete.... to avoid delay in delivery" msg on the app.

If the uncertainty of “when” I would receive my VIN was at the very least a good approximation of time, I might click on those steps to proceed and complete anything I left in limbo. However, it is because of the information I have gathered from the good folks here on this site that I delayed my task completion. Some on here have waited 70, 80, even 90 days for a VIN. Most loan approvals are good for 30-60 days. That would mean another hard credit check for loan approval. And even if it is a minor ding on the credit report, why not avoid it if possible?
Once I pass the 60 day mark for waiting on my VIN (any day now), I will most likely complete the tasks to be ready for delivery (hopefully).

I received my VIN without completing all my tasks. I was still considering trading in my M3 and was looking at private sale also so the choice of a trade in or not wasn’t completed. Also, I didn’t pay until delivery day.
