Not sure how many gun people drive a CT but I'll be one of the few and am trying to figure out ideal placement for a long-gun mount. Considering the roof is glass I was curious what others are considering as roof mount isn't practical.

A front seat mount or behind the seat mount are obvious first choices but considering the flat floorboards and under seat (front or back) may work well. I'm aware of all the typical truck gun options today, I want to consider applications specific to the unique interior of the CT.

Open to your ideas or plans for long gun mounting!

Any thoughts to looking at the mounts, and or the roof racks? UP makes the the racks as well for the back. Would think if a mount is desired one wants to transfer recoil via a hard mount or use for a rest. Either way I think that might be best vs. drilling. Keep us all informed.

thanks guys but no, a mount is only to hold the rifle while I’m driving. I stop the truck, remove gun from the mount and leave the vehicle.
I appreciate that this is a unique topic. If you’ve seen a LEO car, this is how we secure weapons when driving and have easy access to them when departing the vehicle.

Thanks, I need the firearms inside the vehicle so a roof rack isn’t good. And the mount will certainly be drilled into the CT as it’s necessary to secure the heavy weapon and eliminate rattles.
The mount isn’t a shooting mount or shooting rest, it’s only to keep it in place while driving.

Not that you want it in plain sight but that massive dash might be a good place.

Just got my Vin assigned today. I am assuming I will be able to transfer my Vaultek 20i. It currently chains with wire rope that it came with, under my driver seat and i’m hoping to just be able to move that on over. The wire rope it comes with as long, so as long as there is some sort of seat frame that I can get at I should be good to go.

The dash is plenty big for a full size 308 or AK. 50 years from now rifles mounted up there with a locking mechanism might be similar to how we think of old pickup trucks with them mounted along the back window.
But as far as practicality goes for a hg would use the console with a Vaultek or PSG

Non Leo use case - don't have the truck yet but I was planning on putting a 9mm in glove box and attaching a mount/straps, something for a Sig MXC LT or MCX Rattler on the smugglers bay lid - im a bit paranoid about guns in vehicles (have had 2 trucks stolen previously, granted not Teslas)...so I like having double protection of glovebox/smugglers bay vs. just glass.

For your q: an idea maybe is to use the bottom of the rear seat (60%) side - looks to be plastic (vs. carpet) so could possible hold a mount there that is not visible when down and easy to flip up. could also have go to bag or similar under back seat with supplies - all readily accessible. If long gun = ar - one of those mag well mounts would work pretty solid I believe. If bolt gun, maybe something like they have for shovel mounts - eg rubberized/straps. Don't really sacrifice any space but do have to get to back seat to access!

Definitely interested in what you come up with! Share pics!

Monroe has a vid of dropping the battery - in that vid you can seat the undersea construction - it will work well for your cable!

Hunter here. I am waiting for someone to design something for that useless wide space in the dashboard.

That and my 0-60 at 3.9 ticks Cybertruck will ensure no overtaking. ?

It’s an AR platform so that’s a good point of using the mag well mount under the rear seat. I’d prefer to be able to access it from front seat so it’d be up to ergonomics to figure out if it’d work.
My first choice is having it mount next to front seats facing forward using the standard mounts available today. Just hoping to get some ideas to take advantage of the CT unique design approach.
