I’ve driven Teslas for 10 years and have heard every joke or criticism about the cars. None of it bothered me. It’s not my only car so driving my S once a week is really enjoyable. Perfect balance of vehicles (for me) is a Tesla model S (plaid) gen 3 Raptor, and an exotic car (Ferrari F8) just sold my Raptor and got my CYBERTRUCK. Absolutely love it and is the best Tesla yet. I’m completely used to the attention the exotic cars get (both negative and positive) I always encourage kids to sit in the Ferrari and have their parents take a photo. This happened to me when I was 10. Sat in one with my dad and said “one day I’m buying a ferrari” I hope I’m encouraging the next generation of entrepreneurs by doing this. I love cars and like talking to other enthusiasts.

Here is the comparison of driving the Ferrari VS Cybertruck. The Ferrari in general nobody gives a shit unless you are at a car show. I would get flipped off in it once in awhile and realized an important factor. Only drive it on the weekends. Only time I ever had a negative reaction in the Ferrari was when I was driving during the week and never on the weekends! I figured it’s something to do with people are pissed off at their jobs and have the Monday blues, and happy on the weekends? So I ended up not driving it Monday-Wednesday. I had a woman come up to me thinking she wanted to talk about how beautiful the car is (I mean the F8 is a gorgeous car!) but this woman full on goes really negative about why would I buy such a thing, the problems of massive wealth hoarding, income inequality.., she goes on and on… I told her I worked hard for this, it was a childhood dream, and by spending $400k on a car REALLY creates a lot of taxes and creates jobs. It was really bizarre to me how someone gets so worked up on someone’s purchase of a car.

Sooo now Cybertruck. Irvine delivery on Sunday: there was a Palestinian protest with easy 400 people there. They were not protesting Tesla, but this guy comes over to me with his camera on me while I’m taking delivery and starts yelling “fuck Tesla, they are a bad bad company, they are anti union” and lots of other bullshit while yelling and flipping me off. I just pretended not to hear him and continue with my delivery. I went from having goosebumps seeing my truck with my name on it to “get me the fuck out of here” I literally had zero time to talk to the delivery team. It’s hard to brush off assholes! But then there are genuinely happy reactions from kids, teens, neighbors. All of my (non Tesla) car friends all say it’s growing on them. They drive it and say wow, wasn’t expecting to like it this much! So I’m hoping the negativity is temporary.

I personally hated it on 11/22/2019 but the more I read about it, and got used to the design the more and more I liked it, and then LOVED it. It’s my favorite vehicle to drive! I was expecting the middle finger from the anti Tesla people, but not expecting people telling me “you’re an asshole get a real car, that thing is such a piece of shit!” That happened yesterday! Im really trying to not let it get to me, but I would NEVER say something like this to a stranger. What is wrong with people?! Staying positive though… haters gonna hate I guess, it’s a rad truck and absolutely love it. Getting windows tinted today and satin black wrap next week.

Welcome to the CT club. I have had mine since the 12th and it’s been 99.9% a fantastic experience with the public. Lots of smiles and thumbs up. I work at a major university and my drive on to and off campus is a wild level of excitement. More than once a young dude will ride his skate board alongside and film himself and the truck as we roll along the inner campus streets. Got my windows tinted today (amazing looks and much cooler). Two tone wrap starts next Monday (TSportline)
I had a redneck with a long ragged beard and a ball cap try to crowd my lane for about 1/2 mile being aggressive. He was in a10+ y.o. Camry……. I just thought. I know who’s going to win this fight. Asshat.

I've had over a dozen various cars throughout my life. And it's pretty comical.
Hummer h2? Hated on for being bad for the trees
Modded out 350z? Made fun of for being too "ricey"
Cheap rx8? Made fun of for being cheap
Model s? Made fun of for being "a crappy $100k car"
Ferrari Cali T? Made fun of for driving a nice car ?

You really can't win against idiots, it's not worth trying. And it's most definitely not worth giving a rats ass ?

People who hate on you are the same ones who hate anyone living better than them and blame everyone else but them.

They think you fell into monies and are privileged, that’s what all this hate really comes down to, especially here in SoCal….

F those people.

Congrats OP! Two beautiful rides! Wrap it Ferrari Red?

It probably is just temporary. And yes, people are very angry at any protest and will lash at it almost anyone nearby.

Although , there does seem to be a more permanent shift in the younger view of the Cybertruck.

In the past there would be kids excited to hear about Tesla's when the parents are anti-ev and climate change deniers.

But there seems to be kids now parroting their parents negative views on just the Cybertruck for some reason.

May I offer the exhaust pipe of my 1970 Camaro to duck tape his mouth to?

Just letting you know its not you its the car. Happens to me too. I get flipped off in my R8 and I'm not aggressively driving, just casually moving with traffic. I do notice its Monday through Thursday though. Weekends most people love the cars. When I drive our bright mint colored 911 people never hate on that car. There's something about it that just makes people happy. I assumed it would've been the same with ferrari's since they have smooth lines like porsches.
I'm still waiting for my beast but I'm sure its going to be the same attention for a few months. Sorry your delivery was lame, but honestly I expect nothing but here's your truck, click the app thingy and well bye.

Haven't had any hate/dislikes against the truck or the Ferrari other than the ones from my teenage daughter. lol
The CyberTruck did get more attentions and thumb ups than the 812 on the road.

The media has really convinced Tesla is bad. If Tesla advertised (on Fox especially) I bet a lot of the bad press would disappear. People fear what they don't know and lash out. Sorry dude!!!!

It wasn’t about the price as much as getting the truck early! Originally the beast showed late 2024 so I went with AWD. I have a plaid and figured the AWD was plenty of power. I’m pretty sure the film is XPEL
Got my beast about the same time as your AWD so not sure why timing was a concern…

I also got a lot of haters back in the day when I owned a Lamborghini Countach. I was broke down on the side of the road with it once, and people were laughing at me and saying things like, “aren’t you rich enough to afford a tow truck?” I’ve since sold it and hope the Cybertruck won’t get similar reactions.
I'll be carrying my painball gun, locked and loaded when I drive my CT. Just in case things get fun after I flip them off right back.

Mazel tov on the truck!

I have received similar reactions in my exotic vs the CyberBeast.

I have chalked it up to one thing:

CyberTruck is MASSIVE BIG DICK ENERGY!

some people just can’t handle it

So far I’d say 80% of women absolutely LOVE the truck. I’ve seen them drive across the parking lot to come speak to me leave the line of Starbucks to come take pictures of the car. Enthusiastically asked me a bunch of questions about the truck. Top comments from women are “wow that is a beautiful car” “who makes that?”

my reaction from men has been quite the opposite. I would say most males below the age of 25 are extremely enthusiastic about the car. Most men above the age of 70 super stoked about the car. Many middle-aged men between 40 and 60 are the biggest haters I’ve seen. they will see the car and purposely look away shaking their head trying at all costs to avoid eye contact. I’m not sure if they’re shaking their head and disappointment with their life choices or that they have no BDE ?

either way I guarantee you his wife is walking up to me asking to take a photo of the truck
