Adhesive phone mount advice

Hello y'all, I stream live a lot while I'm driving and currently have one of the ones that clips to the corner of the display but it's a cheaper one with a weak magnet and it shakes a lot. I just was gifted by a friend a magnetic phone mount/charger that is made to be placed right on top of the dashboard that's seems a lot sturdier with a stronger magnet. But I'm wondering if the adhesive will damage the dash or leave marks (I have an AWD so no alcantara) and if there is something safe to put in between the dash and the mount. Do you guys think I'm good to just stick it on or any ideas for a way to use it without sticking directly to the dash? I really like the dash mounted solution because you can get a full view of the interior while still using the front facing camera vs having to use the wide angle back cam.

I have the MagBak in all 3 of our Teslas. Their original Cybertruck version had some adhesive issues but they’re good now.

Does the magbak allow the phone to be mounted horizontally? My current one does but it puts pressure on the phone so it's not quite flush which I think it what makes it so prone to falling when I hit a hard bump. Well that along with the weak magnet.

its angled towards the driver so yes you can put it sideways with no issues. It’ll only fall if you have a weak magnet on your case.

I did this. Got a tray that sits behind the screen that has those tripod mounting screw, then got a male to male adapter for those tripod screw holes, then got a magnetic phone mount for a tripod.
