I personally don’t like raffles as this is just gambling and this one seems to pocket the most. $250 a ticket x 5000 tickets. That’s 1.2 million in funding. Out of that you are giving away $200k. Where does the other $1million go?

while it says it’s a nonprofit, are the financials provided for transparency? How much of it goes to salary?
You know they do this as a fundraiser right - to raise funds. Look up their 990 which is public data if you are so concerned about salaries - or better yet, don't enter. Then you can use the dashboard on their site to look up how your state LA is doing regarding emissions and adaption policies.

of course it’s a fundraiser. However how much of this goes back to the people buying a raffle ticket. It should be clear. Many of these raffles are many times scams. Which is why many states don’t legally allow raffles because the transparency is lacking.

@flyhigh123 I explained above in this thread in great detail about the prizes, tax and other expenses, etc. It's very clear how much goes back to the people buying a raffle ticket: one person from Ohio won a $10,000 Early Bird Prize last month, and tomorrow one will win the $7,500 3rd Prize, another will win the $12,500 2nd Prize, and a very lucky person will win a car of their choice priced up to $120,000, plus up to $60,000 in taxes and fees on the car.

We are quite transparent, which is why we livestream not only the drawing, but the loading of the drum beforehand under the watch of our auditors, who prior to the livestream conduct statistically significant sample tests of the ticket list to ensure that all valid ticket stubs are going into the drum. We have strong ratings from the two big nonprofit reviewers, Guidestar and Charity Navigator, and post all of our annual IRS filings on our website.
