Humor me then: why is the dual motor Rivian a more capable and better performer off-road than the Quad motor Rivian…? This is the widely accepted perspective. Head over to Rivian forums for lots of wishful hoping for better off-road software aka virtual lockers.

Tires— Rivian made the gen 1 21-inch rim with a custom tire size. Fortunately dropped on gen 2. And now the market has a second highway-oriented 21 in tire. Fortunately the Rivian 20 inch rim had options for off road.

meanwhile get BF Goodrich KO3 on the Cybertruck in stock size as its a very versatile tire. Same with other available options— lots at Tirerack

I’m not back-pedaling on anything. Each EV truck has its own pluses and minuses. Do powerful people in high positions fib and lie all the time? Yes. Did Mary lead the US in the EV transition? Did we get a 500 mile Cybertruck? ? And I don’t need to validate my truck. I bought it because it is a great truck, the best selling EV truck out there.
And no, to get into the bed you do not put your foot on the tire. Right behind the tire you place your foot right between the black bumper and the stainless steel side. It makes a perfect foothold and then grab the top and lift yourself up. It’s very easy. And yes most people don’t use their brains bed. That’s were the CT shines also, it’s the driving or lack there of. It’s so much fun to drive and it is also so much fun to sit back and relax in it’s comfy seats (way better than my Model Y), listen to the incredible audio system and have FSD do all the work (well mostly because it is not perfect yet).
As far as a work truck - good luck with that one. I wouldn’t want it for a work truck with all the negativity and misinformation floating around. I myself could care less what people think because I know if they have the chance to drive the truck and get more information about it then most would love the truck. Everyone I let drive it loves it.

Teslas in general? You have a reasonable chance of being correct.

Cybertruck? There’s no historical prologue for a comeback from this type of sustained brutal reception by the general public.

PT Cruiser❌
Prowler❌
Yugo❌
Renault Alliance❌
Corvair❌
Pontiac Aztec❌
Ford Edsel❌
I’m torn on if I even believe it is the general public that has any problem with it. I’ve gotten so much more love than I have hate. It’s just a few loud mouths on social media that feel the need to express their jealousy. Social media wasn’t around for most (if not all) of those cars you listed. It wasn’t telling the snowflakes how to feel about the cars, people just legitimately didn’t like them. I dare say most people who don’t frequent social media like the CT.

Of course I know there have been plenty of acts of vandalism (seems like a majority of which come from weirdos in Colorado), so that pulls me the other way.

CT came at a bad time with Elon’s new business ventures and its price is a deal breaker for a lot of people who would definitely be behind a squircle if it met the unveil price tag.

I agree with you totally. Most normal people just don’t like the truck if they don’t like the truck. They may give you a ? or a ?. But they won’t touch your vehicle. The most decrepit people either have a mental problem or they are paid protestors. My wife always made fun of my Subaru Baja but I loved the thing for its practicality and functionality.

Sorry to see REM got banned. They ban you for frivolous things. I got a multi-week time out. And you know what I don’t care anymore. Now that the truck is out this forum has lost its luster. Now Facebook is good enough.
Sad. @REM was one of our best posters, always helping to keep it real.

I hope it's only temporary!

CT isn’t a symbol of hate. Some people out there don’t like it. If that scares you go ahead and sell yours if you want to. The rest of us will continue being awesome.

I agree with all of this. The truck is 80k. How many people standing outside Tesla with signs protesting can afford an 80k car? The ones I saw were old and mad about social security. The other weirdos that are doing things like pants dropping can't afford it either. If someone wants a Cybertruck and they can afford it, they will buy it.

Um, yes they are paid protestors. The evidence is all around. Take a look at Solving the Money Problem” video from 8 days ago. And Elon himself quoted that ActBlue was one of the main organizers.
I hang out with a very conservative crowd, because I am conservative. They all talk that stuff and puff their chests. But you know what, you get them in the car/truck, educate them and the lightbulb in their head goes off and their whole attitude changes! It’s all about “butts in seats”. If you get them to experience EVs and feed them knowledge then they change.
