Is there enough space for your daily essentials — phone, wallet, sunglasses, tools, etc.?

Creaking and Build Quality
One of the most significant frustrations is the center console’s creaking or rattling noise, acknowledged by Tesla service as a known issue. As noted in a Reddit thread on r/CyberStuck, owners report that Tesla has not yet determined a permanent remedy, leading to temporary fixes like noise-dampening tape (r/CyberStuck on Reddit: Tesla service acknowledges center console creaking).

Shallow Design and Item Shifting
The center console’s open, shallow design is a frequent complaint. Owners report that the lack of dividers and depth leads to items shifting or sliding while driving, particularly on turns or uneven terrain. For instance, a thread on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum shows an owner, Fausto, seeking a tall accessory for the lower center 'void' to prevent items like takeout bags or purses from sliding between the driver and passenger side, noting that current accessories are too shallow, more like liners than containers (Tall lower center console aftermarket accessory? | Tesla Cybertruck Forum). Another owner, @tmeyer3 echoes this, looking for a taller solution and mentioning a soft-sided organizer that extends slightly higher but doesn’t use space efficiently.
This shifting is particularly problematic for daily use, with owners noting that the open design does not secure items effectively, leading to potential safety concerns and inconvenience.

Space for Daily Essentials
The console’s capacity for daily essentials like phones, wallets, sunglasses, and tools varies based on owner needs. The Center Console Tray helps, with dedicated sections for smaller items, but the overall depth remains a limitation for larger items. For example, an owner on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum, @Ljhughes8 uses a tall bucket from Dollar Tree with a cup holder to hold a 40oz water bottle, napkins, and roll-on paper towels, indicating creative solutions to fit essentials (Tall lower center console aftermarket accessory? | Tesla Cybertruck Forum). However, reviews suggest that without such modifications, larger items may not stay secure, especially during drives.

Aftermarket Solutions
Owners overwhelmingly express a desire for a smarter layout, with deeper storage and built-in dividers to enhance organization. The Reddit thread on r/cybertruck highlights an owner, StacheWealth, preferring closed-off areas for additional deep storage, noting the current design’s open areas as less practical (r/cybertruck on Reddit: A reminder of what will be under the cover in center console). This sentiment is echoed in forums, with owners like @Furiosa paying $100 for a friend to 3D print a deeper storage part, indicating the stock console’s inadequacy for some (Center console storage | Tesla Cybertruck Forum).
Aftermarket solutions are gaining traction, with mentions of products like the @EVBASE storage bag and potential stainless steel options from @ElecFresh suggesting a growing market for addressing these gaps (Tall lower center console aftermarket accessory? | Tesla Cybertruck Forum).

Agree with shallow design. We had to purchase a tall aftermarket center console on the floor in front of the Tesla console to keep puppy moving from passenger footwell to driver side.

I haven't had any problem with noise . But I updated my storage container. My dollar tree container made it easy for my 5 year old to find my sweet treats . ISo I got a storage caddie from Amazon for 5 year old out of sight out of mind that hold my water bottle or I use my cup holder adapter.. I can't still have space to hold a roll of paper towels and my bag in front . And 4 controllers for boomerang fu. Also it's easy to switch out for different tips with the grandparents need a place for the box of tissues and nebulizer .

Thank you for sharing this detailed feedback regarding the Cybertruck center console experience. We want to assure you that we’ve heard the Cybertruck community loud and clear, and we recognize the importance of addressing the real-world needs of our owners.

We are aware of concerns such as creaking noises from the center console, the challenges posed by its open and shallow design, and the lack of secure storage for everyday items during daily driving. These are important issues, and our design team is actively exploring improvements and new accessories to meet these needs.

We’re committed to developing a range of thoughtful, high-quality accessories that enhance functionality—whether it’s deeper storage solutions, better dividers for organization, or materials that reduce noise and improve build feel!

Every Cybertruck owner uses their vehicle differently, and our goal is to support that individuality with smarter, more practical accessory options. Thank you again for your input and support—we’re listening and working hard to deliver solutions that make your experience even better.

If you have additional thoughts or ideas, we’d love to hear them.

Yeap!Totally understand — the shallow design has its limitations. We're actively exploring taller, more functional accessories to help with situations just like this, including keeping pets safely in place. Thanks for the feedback!

Sounds like you’ve found a great balance between practicality and keeping sweet treats safely hidden from little hands! ?

My biggest frustration is that the center console isn't a seat as originally designed. As a family of 6, that to me is what's missing.
Completely understand your frustration! Having that extra seating in the center console would definitely make a big difference for larger families. It’s a great point!

The phone heater is useless to me. That is prime real estate right by the drivers hand where a shifter would be on an ICE car. Use it for something better.

The cup holders also leave something to be desired. I ended up putting an expander in one of mine but there are much better cup holders in much cheaper cars.

There should, somewhere in the entire console, be a grommet or small hole where wires can be discretely brought in and out at floor level. Especially since the usb and AC plug are in there.

Yes, this is really something to be concerned about.
