Hello everyone, new to the forum..

I got my Cybertruck in August 2024, AWD Foundation Series with the core wheels - Pirelli Scorpion ATR All seasons.

I already know what many of you are probably thinking and yes you are right.. I do like to drive my CT off red lights punching it lol... However, with that aside, how many of you are driving on chill, sport, beast? I am just curious I have almost 12k miles on my Pirelli Scorpion All season ATRs and just got my rotation months ago once I hit that 6k mark and they said my tires are down to a 5 on my recent visit to get a screw out of one of the tires , I may get the summer out of these maybe another 10k miles before I need new tires.

I understand my driving style is likely the cause of this but seriously how is everyone else driving? With such a fun powerful Cybertruck, it's hard to drive in Chill all the time and what have you, I thought about using FSD more mainly which may help not sure, but man just wanted to get thoughts.. Seems like maybe the All Terrains may be better, my buddy has the beast and still has plenty of tread left and he got his Beast a few months after I got my AWD last year.

Also for my next tire, I live in Chicago area and we have decent winters here, I only use 1 set of tires just seeking the best tire for range, perhaps better wear lol as well as a great tire for summer and snow if that exists.. I am assuming another All season tire? I was thinking of the BFG KO3's, will likely affect my range a little bit as well as noise levels. Just curious what any of you have to say about any recommendations.

Thanks in advance!

FSD could help enforce smoother driving, especially in traffic. This should extend your current tires to 20,000–22,000 miles (assuming 10,000 more miles from 5/32"). Track tread depth monthly (use a gauge for precision) and maintain 48–50 psi as recommended for range and even wear. Your Pirellis should last another 8,000–10,000 miles with careful driving (Chill mode + FSD).

I got 50k miles on my SR+ Model 3 tires while everyone else was getting maybe 25k-30K. The key is to roll into the acceleration, avoid harsh braking and be smooth with the steering inputs. You can still mash the accelerator, just don't slap the pedal down, press it smoothly. It helps if you've ever driven a car without power steering, when the steering is hard is when you're scrubbing the tires the hardest. So you want to steer like you would without power steering. The steer by wire definitely makes this harder because it's just so powerful that you don't ever feel like it's struggling even when it should. The lack of power steering also builds the habit of rolling while you steer, especially in parking lots.

I have 5k miles on my Cybertruck, same tires & wheels as you, but mine still look new. I just measured tread depth gauge read 9/32.

Ditto. 4.5k miles and I’m seeing 9/32.

First EV? They chew through tires, 20-25K miles is all you’re gonna get. Don’t worry about chill mode or driving more carefully, it won’t make much of a difference. The sheer weight and torque of EVs put a strain on the tires. But KO3s have a 50K warranty (unlike Goodyears or Pirellis). You probably won’t get anywhere near that, but your replacements will be 50% or so off.

Thanks for the reply, it's my 2nd EV but I had a SR+ 2019 M3 before my Cybertruck, that thing was the slowest on the market so I wasn't having tire issues lol I appreciate the advice, makes me feel better, def probably getting the KO3s!

More to the point, it's EV drivers that chew through tires. I have 8,000 miles on the OEM Pirellis and they have almost no tread wear.

FYIW, I replaced our Model Y OEM Continentals at 75k miles and they still had 5/32 tread left.

I got 31k out of the original Goodyears. I just put on the Toyo but the road noise is very noticeable and I have lost an additional 3% of range. I am going to swap them out for either the Pirelli or the KO3. My acceleration and braking are very chill so I tend to do better than most with tire wear. The tires on my MX always tend to last longer than other peoples experiences.
