Now, let’s kick it into *mad genius mode*. ??️

If Tesla handed you the keys to design the next-gen Cybertruck, what’s the one feature or upgrade you’d absolutely want?

Here’s mine:
? Built-in winch with auto-anchor mode
Can pull itself out of *any* terrain
? Ultimate off-road survival tech!
Or imagine this — retractable solar panel wings that charge while parked!

Improvements I think would be very welcome are:

-factory electronic rearview mirror
-Solar tonneau cover
-Roll down window from cab to vault
-add power outlet to frunk
-make interior led strips capable of more complex multicolor patterns
-power doors like model x for drop-off/pickups
-a tailgate step of some kind
-integrated Starlink mini position or capability
-homelink instead of a subscription web service
-integrated off-road navigation like native on-x or all trails type thing.
-figure out a way to keep plugs on while level 2 charging.
-lose the sideview mirrors
-Smart Summon
-not really an exclusively Cybertruck feature but longer cables on superchargers
-and….since we’re shooting for the moon….fantasy feature for anyone who has kids….limo style rollup divider between front and rear seats.

Solar tonneau cover

Solar on the tonneau won't get you much range even under optimal conditions in Arizona. You're probably looking at 3 miles/day.
Then you'll need to consider stowing the panel without damaging the cells.

I need trailer hitch cover with door system. (Like you don't want to use any tool everytime you use hitch)

If there was a two kilowatts solar folding array, on a sunny day the CT could get up to 48 miles.
This assumes 12 hours of charge on a summer day in Arizona, 3 miles per kilowatt hour (kwh), and no losses. The calculation is:

2kw x 12 hours x 3 miles per kwh = 48 miles

Picture that the CT is in the shade provided by the solar array.

That Starlink mini idea is genius — and the limo-style divider for kids? ? Absolute parent-level 9000.
Also totally agree on the roll-down cab window — super practical.

This comes up anytime portable solar is mentioned in reference to the Cybertruck. Yes, it’s true it wouldn’t add a lot of miles although almost every calculation, I have done results in quite a bit more than 3 miles a day. So what you’re saying is true but perhaps exaggerated a little to support your argument.
The point most people having this conversation are missing with respect to the Cybertruck as compared to almost any other EV is that it’s an adventure vehicle capable of going to some very remote places.
The point isn’t to generate a lot of solar and cut down the recharging costs by more than the amount you spend on solar hardware. It is to make a vehicle that CAN charge itself back up even slowly in a remote place and with enough patience be able to be driven out of that place and to a supercharger unassisted.
If you ask me, the ability for the vehicle to be unstrandable like that at least from a charge standpoint is worth a premium I’m willing to pay.
I go camping with young children in the Arizona desert and that would significantly reduce my anxiety. Right now I gain that advantage with an Ecoflow delta pro 3 and about 2kw of portable solar panels which was also not cheap but that takes up space I’d like to have back.

tons of accessories, snow plow blade, storage mount/see coolers carried, spare tire, front step, etc
