I just got my roof rack with lightbar from TLYARD and when I began the install on my 2025 CT I saw that the ports that you install the bracket to are only on the back of the truck. There are no openings on the top trim by the roof glass. Has anyone else had this issue. If I pry off the trim partly off, I can see the 2 screws that the brackets are supposed to connect to but I cant leave that trim piece off.

FS had the four slots whereas 25’ does not, I think you can get the additional slots available through a new trim piece, provided by Tesla, for a fee.

I am unsure on specifics, this has been posted previously. Search function may help

A buddy of mine took delivery of his '25 Cyberbeast (non-FS) today and I confirmed that it has them. My '25 AWD (non-FS) doesn't have them.

The roof applique with rack doors are $270 each

If the rack is going to be mostly permanent, just drill holes for them, and when you sell it you buy the replacement then, if it’s necessary. No need to replace it with one with doors, if your just leaving the roof rack up.

I had this issue upon delivery on my ‘25 AWD in March. They swapped the panels (called appliqués) for me, but said not to tell anyone. They did this because I had ordered four OEM crossbars the same day I ordered the truck, so it was clear that the pictures with all eight panel openings showing were an “obligation” to deliver those, as they were still evident on the TSLA webpage, plus I had ordered all four bars predicated on the then-showing design - so essentially Tesla’s mistake. You could try the same argument, but I think you might lose because the webpage pictures now show only provision for two crossbars.

For the ‘25, the bolts are still welded under the panel where there is no little door - Tesla service told me it would cost $600 to purchase the replacement appliqués with the little doors. They pop on and off easily. I would NOT attempt to cut the bare appliqués - they are engineered with water guidance in consideration.

I would also NOT purchase any of the many aftermarket crossbars that are on offer. They are virtually all kluges compared with the OEM bars, which are the only ones that are “faired” into the sides of the truck on the same angle, but most importantly, they are the only ones designed for easy on/off. The OEMs have keys and can be removed or reinstalled in seconds, seriously under a minute. They are fully engineered solutions for temporary crossbars, while working fine for long term use too. They simply look like a Tesla product, while the others look stuck-on, ham-handed, and they ALL bolt on with four bolts per crossbar, or eight bolts in at least one case, so with four bars, 16 nuts or 32 nuts every time you want them on or off. That reportedly takes hours to do (one aftermarket crossbar owner claimed it took him eight hours in another thread here), and in some cases, aren’t collapsible like the OEMs, which fit nicely in the bed when pushed together. Most of the aftermarket bars do not collapse, and most have lower weight limits. Buyer beware - you get what you pay for.

You can’t simply drill holes because most crossbars (including OEM) require installation of a mount inside the cavity created by the little appliqué door, with part of the crossbar end device going into the hole, so it isn’t simply a matter of accessing the studs welded inside the hole - the entire rectangular hole is necessary to complete the installation.

They are not water tight by any means, cutting holes for crossbars will have little effect on this. If you want a rack or crossbars, its easy to cut vs spending $600 on more parts.

Your facts are a little off, sorry to say, and please don't be offended we all have our own opinions and then there are facts.

The OEM bars are good for carrying skis and luggage box. It's a truck, throw those in the bed. Our Heavy-Duty crossbars, and Mars, are both much stronger than OEM bars and can support rooftop tents and spare tires. No chance OEM will ever do either of those.

And anybody who took 8hrs to mount crossbars needs to never work on their truck again, they don't take more than 15min to put each bar on with 2 tools and 2min to take off with 1 tool.

Tesla Cybertruck 2025 CT Roof Rack Install no slots on trim by glass IMG_4908

If your Cybertruck was built after November 14, 2024, you can either order the roof applique with the small plastic door from Tesla using P/N 1816592-00-B & 1816593-00B, or simply remove the roof applique. Our rack and cap are designed to cover the area seamlessly.

Hope this helps!?

Correct, you can trim the rectangle with a drummer tool, or simply remove the entire panel and mount any rack and it will be covered.
