That sucks, man, but you gotta do right by your family. Not going to judge your decision.

I'm in Atlanta, I've had my Cybertruck for 14 months, and I've never had a single bad reaction. It's the opposite, actually. People come up and ask me about it all the time in parking lots, road crews give a thumbs up, and kids go nuts for it.

Maybe it's just southern manners, if you don't have anything nice to say, keep it to yourself. Or maybe it's because we're all armed ?‍♂?

Where might that Eden be? Seems like the distain comes from both ends of the spectrum. Even "Middle" America truck lovers seem to take offense that it is somehow demeaning to them by appropriating their 4x4 tough image. "That's not a REAL truck" mentality.

I love the CT but the haters are gonna hate for now. Maybe exposure to it over time will breed familiarity and they will eventually find something else to spend their energy on.
i’m in Iowa and Missouri a lot and drive a ton of miles - 30,000 K plus per year. I really don’t see any hate. The only hate I ever really got was when we were traveling to Ohio. And that was just a few skanky fat chicks in a car flipping us off.

I think it’s easy to overreact because the political environment right now.

Got my CyberTruck exactly a year ago, only once had someone shooting a middle finger in their NY tagged SUV. We live in an area where people are polite and somehow their children can spot a CT from a mile away to make sure parents follow me so the kids can get a pictures taken from the inside and outside. While we are proud of our southern hospitality, NE state tagged vehicles are notoriously tests our limits down here.

Thanks for all of the responses! Okay, I figured I would just answer all of the questions in one post instead of replying to everyone.

  1. If you want an item, feel free to DM me so we can talk offline. That way we don't fill the thread with info people shouldn't see :)
  2. What truck did I go with?

I purchased a new 2025 GMC Sierra Denali EV Extended Range. I got a great deal on it ($77k). I traded in my CT, which was a 2024 AWD with about 12k miles on it. They gave me $64k for it.

  1. Do you miss the CT?

Yes and no. I miss the FSD for sure, and the app for Tesla is light years ahead of GMC's, but the gap is getting much smaller. The range in the GMC is much better though—about 420 miles for the extended in real-world usage. I also miss the kiddos who would freak out when they saw my truck. I always kept a bunch of glow-in-the-dark little alien toys that I would throw at them if they were close enough, haha.

  1. How bad is the hate in NH?

It's moderate. I would probably get 1-2 bad interactions each trip I make. Most of the time it's just a middle finger or a thumbs down. Nothing violent. Some days there would be nothing bad at all. I also got a ton of positive feedback as well. My family is just not suited for the negativity. I can handle it, but I won't do anything that makes my family feel uncomfortable. Family first; I come second. It does seem that common decency in the area has just vanished.

Also, I'll include a picture of my new truck just in case anyone wanted to see.

Lastly, I want to reiterate, this is not a post bashing the CT at all. I loved my truck, and I hope that it continues to be a success. Fight the good fight everyone!

Thanks, for answering everyone's questions. I'm so sorry to hear this is the reactions you were getting in NH. I'm guessing you're in southern NH :).

Frankly, I'm surprised since I live in the Greater Boston area (right where 93 and 95 intersect on the northern side of the city) and I rarely got a negative reaction. The height for me was during the crazy DOGE times (March - April/May). Back then, I got probably 5-10 negative reactions (mostly a thumbs down but a few fingers from the stereotypical cray cray liberal). Now, 99.9% of the time, it's nothing or a thumbs up (kids still go crazy for it!).

The Denali EV truck looks good. Will be curious to hear your thoughts on it after you've had it for a bit.

Too bad East and West used to be where it was at, not anymore evidently?!

Still no known Tesla issues in central states .

Pray for the best!

That Denali EV is actually pretty sleek, congrats. I did not know about the range, even better!

So you don’t miss “Steer By Wire”…. In other words turning your steering wheel in your Denali 3 to 4 times to make a turn…your kids don’t miss Disney Plus in the car & video games, respectively General Motors app is no where close to Teslas because no other auto makers is, over the air software updates, web browser, seamless integration with the Super Charger Network, slower acceleration due to GM just shoving more batteries & adding weight with no better efficiency, you already mentioned FSD, & on & on? Not trying to start an argument or anything because Family does come 1st brother…Trust me I get it…no material thing comes before family…but man…those compromises! The CT & Tesla for that matter just does too many things that other vehicles “can’t”! From the 1st time I test drove a Model 3 on a whim @ a mall because I was bored & wanted to know what the hype was about…I immediately traded in my BMW M3 F80 (which I loved) & knew subconsciously that I could never drive anything but a Tesla ever again…regardless of what a Billionaire I will never know or meet does or a person who I don’t know feels about what I’m driving! Sorry for the rant again… But I will say…you did get a great deal & the Denalis do look good…but I like how the CT stands out from anything else on the road I guess.

This is very unrelated, but I thought Disney plus was removed. There's a way to use it on the rear screen?

I do miss some things for sure.

steer by wire. Although I thought it was cool, I don’t miss it at all.

Disney+ and video games. Again a cool feature but only used maybe once or twice in the year I owned it. My kids are 12-14 so they mostly use their phone instead of the screen on the truck.

The app isn’t as good but it’s not horrible at all. It has everything I used on a regular basis on the Tesla app (locking, ac controls, lights etc)

I have an adapter for the truck so I can use the super charger network without issues.

acceleration is fine. Not as fast as CT but I don’t like to blow through my tires anyhow so it’s fine. Plenty of power. I would actually prefer a better range over acceleration speed.

enjoy your truck. No ill wishes and not looking to make anyone defensive. I love both trucks. It’s not ct or nothing though. We can all drive on the same road :)

It’s still there…you just have to force it to show up. It never left. Just go to Disney plus.com on the web browser and the app will reappear. My kids watch it all the time
