Just got off a 13 hour shift. I usually pull into target to do a u-turn before getting home since there’s almost no U-turns in Manhattan Beach. Group of police cars parked in the lot where I usually do the turn. Turned right in front of them and waited for the light change. Saw them run up behind me thinking “Oh cmon that’s not an illegal turn!” Then saw who they were really after! Shop lifter from a store earlier in the day!! Turns out I was the perfect blind for them as he didn’t see them until it was too late.

I have never actually used the dashcam feature. When you press the button it saves the last 10 minutes of rolling footage, is that right? Or is it five minutes before and five minutes after? Or 10 minutes from the button press?

It highlights the most recent 15-30 seconds of the dashcam footage for that drive. Like the “jump to event” feature on sentry recordings.

So what’s the right way to use it if something interesting happens? Like say someone cuts you off and then hits another car in front of you. Or you’re at a light and some asshole in the crosswalk throws something at your car.
Or the cops tackle some shoplifter right in front of you?
