So, I mounted an iPhone mount on the corner of my screen and wanted to run a USB-C cable to it, as discretely as possible. In running the cord into the console, I was surprised to find a hidden rubber access point.

This may be common knowledge, but one of the threads I reviewed on this topic suggested drilling a hole, which I did not want to do. Well, after I pulled the front panel from the console, I noticed something odd. When I poked my finger in it, it stretched and allowed me to run my USB cable through the front of the console. I could not see it or feel it until I pushed it in from the outside.

So, is this common knowledge and I just have poor searching skills?

UPDATED:

Those orange wires feed the AC outlet in the console. If you pull the front panel off you will see the orange wires and you can find it from there. Yes, it's that little triangle. It comes out just below the AC outlet.

Attached are a couple pictures from the inside of the console. I can't take anymore from the outside because it's back together, but you won't have any trouble finding it now that you know what to look for.

make it three! and where is the hole, I can't figure it out from the pic.
Looks like that triangle that the black wire goes into is a little diaphragm you can push through.
am I misunderstanding that?
Where does it come out on the inside of the console?

More pictures if you got 'em. I'd be interested in finding out what is in the void on the other side of the black triangle.

there's nothing on the other side. You can't see it from inside the console but if you push your finger in the triangle you can push the rubber trim under the outlet out and run your usb cable right through it. I suspect that is what it is for. I can't image any other reason to have that there.

I purchased a 90 degree usb-c adapter so it will sit flatter against the front of the console. I think that will clean it up pretty well.

However, I was not able to fully hide the cable as it makes its way down the front of the dash. I can easily get it behind the white top trim and, with a little work, behind the carpeted bottom trim. However, I could not figure out a way to run it behind the middle dash trim, the trim just below the steering column. Is there a trick to running the wire behind that part of the dash?

Dude. You’re my hero. Best post I’ve seen in ages.
How big is the tunnel? Not big enough to pass an ac plug but big enough for a couple of usb-c’s?

This is easy. Just remove your screen and run the cables down from the bottom of it through behind the console. Then at the bottom just pop one of your tray sides up and run it below that till you get through the port you have. That’s how I have my two magbak chargers setup. Don’t mind the under screen tray. I colored how I routed mine plus the non colored pic.

Is there a write up somewhere explaining how to remove the screen? Sounds awful but it's probably just two t20 screws. Either way, I'd love a little more detail.

Question about routing. The panel at the front of the center console (directly covering this triangle) where do the cables enter into it? At the bottom by the tray? Is it able to be clipped shut with cables in there? Does it need a hole?
